But they are, because they know Trump and the GOP have them whipped on the economy. Democrats have NOTHING to run on.

LOL - They didn't save squat, Obama's economic ranking is in the bottom five of all time (1.48% average annual GDP growth) and left Trump with an anemic economy struggling at 1.49% in 2016. If Obama had done so well with the economy Clinton, not Trump, would be running for re-election this year.

Pro-growth policies count and the positive results are all around us, whether you want to see past your partisan blinkers or not.

As for confidence, yes, that counts too, and when it came to the economy Obama & the Dems were confidence killers with their adversarial relationship towards business and investors and their never-ending calls for more government, more tax hikes, more mandates and more regulations.

I hear ya the economy is a very nuanced thing but do you really think your average American is gonna look further than "hey I got more money now under Trump"?

Yeah, Moody's is on a real hot streak...

    From your link....

    SNIP
The Moody’s models have been backtested to 1980 and were correct each time — except in 2016, when it indicated Clinton would get a narrow victory.
    ENDSNIP

Welcome back, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania!! Maybe throw in an Arizona or Iowa for fun...

I got a nice tax refund this year.... Still won't support a criminal for President and I spit on anybody who does....

"and I spit on anybody who does...."

Seems a little harsh, there's already a decent portion of Trump voters who are voting for Trump because he's the closet to their policies and he'll appoint judges who view the Constitution in a manner more closely with how they view it.

I don't agree with you most times but I appreciate your views and wouldn't think to spit on you for viewing policy in a different manner than me. That's what makes America so great that were wer allowed to have or different views and at the end of the day we can still work together. Presidents come presidents go there's no need to flip out of fellow Americans

Well, I've never spit on anybody in my life, so maybe a little hyperbole on my end...

But I will flip them the bird... that I have no problem with...

But spitting sounded better.... thought I could get Biden an additional 100K votes across several states with my threat... :)

Over 60% of total Federal spending is spent on social programs (SS, Medicare, Medicaid, ObamaCare, Welfare, etc.).

"Roads, libraries, parks and such" consume a fraction total Federal spending.

That may be true of investors on Wall Street, but the average person is not considering "confidence" when making purchases for their needs and wants. For those everyday transactions the president is irrelevant. The economy that people feel in their daily lives, people that don't exist at the upper echelon of the economic movers and shakers, is not driven by the president. Trump has nothing to do with them.

It certainly gives you spending power. But you having the job is not the result of the president, with the exception of maybe working for his administration or working directly or indirectly for any companies that person may own or use for his businesses. The Trump businesses certainly employ people in this country, but it's a miniscule fraction of the total workforce.

While there are many out there that follow the Stalinist party lines and fall for things like parody, instead of facts, who will no doubt vote against their interest and put party over politics...most won’t, and trump is a lock

Thats a right wing talking point that has absolutely no merit

Trump is such a dumpster fire, that he may not win even in this economy !

If you remove social security as it is an insurance — not a social program — the largest federal line item is the military plus its related costs (VA, healthcare reimbursement, pensions, ect)

Yes they are. In all studied, they wait for big purchases when they have confidence that the overall economy is doing well.

This shouldn't be a discussion. I have sat in front of dozen plus Econ Professors and they all concur on that point.
