Don't agree. Why would being brutal against someone because of their religion be worse than being brutal because of their skin color... or any other ethnic characteristic?

So you're saying that Assad is brutal just for the sake of being brutal, and that this and the fact that he equally brutalizes blacks, whites and jews makes him somehow ..."better"?

I fail to see your point.

I don't remember having seen a poll in that regard. But that's like saying that a majority of Germans would prefer Hitler in power than to be invaded by armies from all sides.

Look. It doesn't matter what the Syrians "prefer". Humanity cannot tolerate murderous dictators who would use chemical weapons... even against his own people. We need to learn from what we have seen in the past from leaders who are allowed to slaughter their people, and how they evolve from there.

I'm sure many would prefer somebody in power who did not use chemical weapons against innocent children. I'm not talking about regime change. But anything the world can do to stop brutal tyrant is to the benefit of humanity. The mistakes have always come when we find ourselves the orchestrators of regime change. And especially when we

Of course! We need to do things that are better. Not things that are worse.

I read it is Assad. He's always been a cruel bastard. Jihadists must strike at the neck.

"That is exactly how Russia wants Americans and our President to think."

Reinstitute the draft then, get a huge and expendable force trained, and open up a can of whoop-arse.

I said in my post that the turks would be the genocidal nuts. And what are these "syrian democratic forces", you got to be kidding me, they are one of many groups that is opposed to Assad, just because the put democratic or workers or freedom in thier name does not make them so. We picked them to back in a civil war

By Kurdish homeland, what is this that you speak of. There is an are of the middle east where kurds are the predominant group, that does not make it a homeland. South Boston
is predominantly Irish Catholic, it is not an autonomous region of Boston.
Why is it worse? ask the US Congress who passed laws stating that hate crimes willl carry stiffer crimes than non hate crimes for the same offense. painting a swaztica on the sidewalk somewhere is one thing, graffiti. painting a swastika on a synagogue will get you put in jail.

And Germany was an aggressor, so being invaded is not a valid point. And again, what does it matter to the US. how are our security interests threatened by a secular dictator fighting a civil war against isis and al queda. Outside of Assad, what group is the most powerful of the warring factions (not incl russia of course) is Al queda. If the kurds won independence from Assad and he was toppled who would rule in syria, Al queda-

You are so naive to blame Russia, Russia, Russia for everything. ISIS would not have been destroyed in Syria without Russian troops. Erdogan should be toppled as he tries to enter Syrian's land. But you have no problem with him invading, do you. You seem to have great respect for the dictators that rule the middle east, but you hate Russia! That is not only naive it is not critical thinking. Russia has been for protecting Assad during this whole debacle started by Obama and McCain. Russia is not there to dominate Syria. And Russia would never put Israel in danger. You are nothing but a fearmonger.

You are correct when you note that South Boston is not the ancient homeland of the Irish people.

    Kurds are indigenous to Kurdistan.

Fake Don's suddenly cutting and running, betraying reliable US democratic allies, is repugnant to all decent Americans, condemned by patriotic Republicans as well as Democrats.

House overwhelmingly votes bipartisan condemnation of Trump withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria, 354-60.

Fake Don cannot afford to lose the support of his bum kissers, and his blatantly crapping on the nation's integrity is especially ill-timed.

A disgusting lie. AQ was already there as well as fanatics from Muslim Brotherhood. Obama and Hillary hoped for the Libyan scenario. The regime change ending with Assad's killing. Luckily they failed and Sunni radical fanatics were defeated. For the time being.

Assad began killing Syrians in early 2011.. That's why 10,000 Sunni conscripts defected from the Army.

Barbara Walters interviewed Bashar Assad in December 2012 for an hour. He claimed he didn't do it... he said the government did it.

So, you would assume that holocaust survivors, too are equally mistaken in their eyewitness recollections or is it just US Servicemen who are delusional in recalling their experiences

What a coincidence. The Golan Heights are on the other end of Israel. A couple of hundred miles away at least.

What are you talking about? Of course I have a huge problem with Erdogan invading. Trump enabling this is the most stupid thing he has done. And, given all the stupidities that Trump has done, that's saying a lot.

I have no respect for any dictator. I don't care if he's the dictator of Syria, of Cuba, or of Russia. They are all human scum!

You believe the words of a dictator who murders and jails those who criticize him... and you call me "naive"?

To be sure, they never completely fulfilled their ambitions in that direction; but they only got as far as they did because of people who thought like you.

Trump supporters continue to give me a free hand in reporting the consequences of Trump's bizarre and dishonorable decision to abandon a U.S. ally and creating a national security threat. Of course, there is little they can say. Actually, judging from the threads, they are avoiding the subject entirely.

I wonder what it is like to be a President who made a decision, and nearly everyone disagrees with the decision. With the exception of butt kissers, Esper and Milley, this would include the Pentagon, field commanders, and the defense department. Those who disagree with Trump would also include Democrats and Republicans alike in Congress. With the exception of a$$-kisser, Pompeo, the state department can also be added to the list. That is just about everyone who matters in our federal government.

To illustrate this fact, the House today approved a resolution formally rebuking Trump over his decision to withdraw U.S. troops from northern Syria.

The measure passed in a 354-60 vote, with four lawmakers voting present. The top three House Republicans supported the motion in a rare split from the President. The measure also calls on Turkey to end its military action, calls on the United States to protect the Kurds and calls on the White House "to present a clear and specific plan for the enduring defeat of ISIS" because Trump's strange retreat order caused the escape of thousands of ISIS terrorists.

In the Senate, Trump's friend, Senator. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is co-sponsoring a bill that is expected to introduce sanctions legislation on Thursday.

So, later in the day, Trump went to a meeting of Congressional leaders in a foul mood. Everyone is against him, not withstanding his loyal fans on PF.

Angry from the very start, lying from the very start to a room full of leaders who knew he was lying, the unbalanced Trump suffered a melt down. Then he called the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi a "third-rate politician." Imagine that, calling an equal member of our government a "third rate politician." Trump is really losing it.

The Democratic leaders angrily walked out of a White House meeting. One can hardly blame them.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., trying to cover for Trump, lamely opined that Pelosi stormed out of the room, calling it “unbecoming” of the speaker. He did not mention Trump's defensive, belligerent attitude from the start nor Trump's embarrassing insult of the Speaker.

As the uppermost levels of the American government is tearing itself apart, Vladimir Putin is enormously pleased with Trump's performance.

Little wonder why Trump's backers can't find a thing to say.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has dismissed US calls for a ceasefire in northern Syria and said that he's not worried about American-imposed sanctions.

Speaking to journalists traveling on his presidential plane following a visit to Azerbaijan Tuesday, Erdogan said a ceasefire was off the table. "Declare a ceasefire, they say. We will never declare a ceasefire," Erdogan said. "We do not sit at the table with terrorist organizations."

With gutless wonders like Trump, Pompeo, Esper, and Milley that was entirely expected. Those four are too busy retreating to come forward with a strategic offensive, and Erdogan knows it. Their idea of retaliating against an invasion force is economic sanctions and surrender.

    :roflol:

Pat Robertson has NEVER been a leftist and he is the only person who claimed that America "deserved 9/11" as I recall.

The illegal invasion of Iraq was badly MISMANAGED by the INCOMPETENT Bush/Cheney warmongering regime to the point of requiring a DO-OVER which they still failed to get right.

It was the FANATICS in the Bush/Cheney regime that illegally invaded Iraq with DELUSIONS about being greeted as "liberators" and who then COMPOUNDED their fanaticism by SCREWING it all up so badly that the USA was forced to retreat under the lousy deal signed by Bush jr.

    Warmongers are the fanatics!

Both are testifying about what they experienced.
It's a simple "yes" or "no" question.
You have repeatedly dismissed the all eyewitness accounts of USS Liberty survivors as worthless because they were traumatized by their experiences.
Therefore, in your thinking, all holocaust survivors' eyewitness accounts must be equally worthless due to their trauma.
    So, which is it?
Is eyewitness testimony credible or not..... no weaseling?

I don't consider eyewitness testimony "worthless". I simply consider it less reliable than other forms of evidence. And this is now a basic assumption by every major western law enforcement organization when it comes to gathering evidence of a crime nowadays.

Since 1948 when the name and philosophy of the Department of WAR was changed to the DoD the military has been hogtied and prevented from winning wars.

I think it all depends on where you/me get our information. I read that the majority of Syrians have always supported Assad. And the vast majority, except the radicals, prefer him to civil war. It's also my understanding that the radical rebels tried driving him from office by shutting down the Syrian economy, which instead forced Assad to call out troops to unblock the roads. It all spiraled from there, aided by Obamas meddling and smuggling arms from Libya to the various radical groups in Syria. I think Ben Ghazi was the hub for Obama's arms smuggling. It's also my understanding that Assad was practicing dentistry in Europe and didn't want anything to do with government, when his Father died and he was compelled to return to Syria and take his place.

There are larger geopolitical reasons for that. Mainly being that with the development of nuclear weapons the primary goals of the U.S. when it comes to any military conflict has been "containment" and "de-escalation" rather than "winning". Because it is believed that if the U.S. won any conventional conflict that it would provoke other nations into going nuclear against the U.S. this was the fear regarding Korea (fears of Soviet escalation to nuclear conflict), Vietnam (fears of Soviet or Chinese escalation to nuclear conflict) and we can go down the list on and on. It was even a fear in Bosnia and Kosovo (Russian escalation).
