I actually held out a tiny bit of hope that the people within the Trump administration who were charged with selecting the G-7 location would recognize the sheer volume of conflicts associated with hosting the event at a Trump location and decide, for that reason alone, to choose a different location.

Silly me, the Emoluments Clause is apparently for anyone else not named Trump.

The president used his public office to direct a massive contract to himself. The G-7 Summit draws hundreds of diplomats, journalists and security personnel, and provides a worldwide spotlight.

Remember when President Carter gave up ownership of his Peanut Farm because he was so worried about the appearance of a conflict of interest.

    His ****ing PEANUT FARM.

Hahaha! The Emoluments Clause does not apply here. Folks need to learn about things before shooting off at the mouth. These "journalists" are being willfully ignorant.

Looks like President Trump has once again pulled the chain of the alt-lefties. He seems to delight in poking them in the eye.
The man is pure genius. Perhaps a bag of peanuts before dinner?

Congress has to draw a line for this guy cause he obviously has no sense of morals. The guy is a dick. Time for Congress to step up.

And make the heads of his own staff and military explode at the same time ... he's such grand example of how to empty a room by crapping on the floor.

When is that swamp draining going to start? Oh, I forgot, Trump is the swamp.

If I was a foreign G7 leader, I would get together with other leaders and boycott this event.

In a hypothetical, just imagine the heads of US conservatives exploding, if the American tax payer would have to shuffle money into Merkel's pockets, if she would host a G7 event at her own money-making property. Nevermind, she has too much ethical compass to even think about personally profiting from such an event.

Congress doesn't want to start a war with Turkey - your moronic post makes no sense what-so-ever.

"I'm shocked that Trump would drive business to his own personal companies using his position as president!" said no one ever including his supporters.

Hey they came in at half the bid of the other 11 facilities, that's business, that's American's saving tax payer dollars. All good in the hood more we save the better. One great think about the property, it's outside of town and can be secluded from outsiders. Security, reporters and representatives can all stay on site and the airport is close. Sounds like an obvious choice if the bid was cheaper.

The willingness to hold an elected official to the same standard as an internet troll will be one of the lasting destructive factors from the trump candidacy.

Well, the alt-lefties and war mongering Republicans are whining when Trump pulls out American troops and screech that we are allowing Turkey to come in and slaughter (their words not mine) thousands of innocents, so make up your mind leave the US troops stuck in the Mid-East so you can complain, or pull the US troops out so you can complain.
Never mind, that was a rhetorical question.

It is personally directing millions of US taxpayer dollars and foreign money into Trump's personal business.

Sounds like an obvious conflict of interests.

NOT an either/or proposition. Trump could have warned the Kurds that he was going to be pulling out and given them time to get the children out of harms way and begin negotiations. I have no problem getting out of the Middle-East in a methodical and organized manner, but this was a wild hair-up-his-ass move on Trump's part. Its not the action of a rational mind.

So you think taking a bid for 50% less than the other bids is a conflict of interest. dang you guys love spending some taxpayer dollars.

I hold out some hope that the other members of the G7 say they will be unable to attend based on their own domestic anti-corruption legislation.
