Poor Weng Wenzhou. She must be suffering terribly

Meng Wanzhou steps out of her US$4.2 million mansion, a GPS monitor strapped to her ankle, and slips into a chauffeured black SUV. Then she is off, largely free to roam the shops and restaurants within 100 square miles of Vancouver until her 11pm curfew.

So goes another day of house arrest for Meng, chief financial officer of Huawei Technologies and daughter of the billionaire founder of China’s biggest telecom provider. It is, by all appearances, a comfortable life for someone at the centre of a complex power game.

Ps. Trade wars are easy to win. Won’t be long now.

COMMUNIST FRONT CORPORATION: Chinese professor stole hard drive secrets for Huawei.

The document formally charging Mao in Brooklyn federal court charges that he conspired to "defraud a company headquartered in the Northern District of California." Other court filings, including a criminal complaint filed in a Texas federal court last month, help fill in the details. As Reuters first reported, Mao is accused of stealing trade secrets from a startup called CNEX Labs on behalf of Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei.

The prosecution is the latest effort by the Trump administration to punish Huawei for industrial espionage. In January, the US government indicted Huawei after employees attempted to steal proprietary information about a T-Mobile robot used to test mobile phones.

Finally, a President that Puts America First!

I have no love for Donald Trump but this is something that needed to be done. The Chinese need to learn to play nicely in the world of business.

    Crisis at the boar-der: panic
as Canadian feral hogs approach the US

America is facing a crisis at the border. It’s just not the one you might have heard about. According to officials with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), sightings of feral hogs along the northern US-Canadian border have increased in recent years, and the prospect of the invasive species has wildlife experts worried.

The roving swine have reportedly set their itinerary for Montana, . . . .

    Really.

I’m sorry that the country to your north is such a problem.
The wild pigs are a different issue. I’m sure hunters or the mountain lions could take care of them.

I voted PPC, for Mr. Al Muir here in Central - Nova....
my wife voted for Mr. George Canyon the CPC candidate... my brother will be voting for Liberal M. P. Mr. Sean Fraser..... we are rather divided up here.......

I actually wrote an e-mail to five M. P. candidates in my area to attempt to get them thinking in terms of win - win - win - win - win vs the traditional win - lose formula......

I think that that e-mail is down in post #15 here........

Louis Riel would be something like an ISIS or Al Qaeda terrorist today. But still a terrorist back in the day? Are you Metis Moi621?.....you seem to focus on this lot, and for someone who bashes Canada.....you spend a lotta time here?

    https://business.financialpost.com/news/economy/canadas-economy-loses-71200-jobs
Canada loses 71,200 jobs in biggest employment drop in decade
Unemployment rate jumps the most since 2009 to 5.9%
Canada’s job market unexpectedly weakened for a second-straight month, registering the biggest drop in employment since 2009 and casting doubt on the resiliency of the domestic outlook.

The economy lost 71,200 jobs in November, Statistics Canada said Friday in Ottawa, following a decline of 1,800 in the prior month. That pares the total number of jobs added this year to around 285,100.

The report missed the median economist forecast for a gain of 10,000 jobs. The unemployment rate increased to 5.9 per cent in the month, from 5.5 per cent in October, the biggest one-month jump since 2009. The decrease in employment was broad-based among both the goods-producing and service-producing sectors.

I guess they don't get an employment spike as :flagus: for Christmas.

As are a lot of Muslim "martyrs".....same as Riel.....he was a terrorist.
He organized Northwest Rebellion which led to his arrest......and was hiding out in Montana, like a coyote in the dark.
He "supposedly" fathered Manitoba.....which is highly debatable.
I'm guessing you have Metis in you....since you bring this up?

How about those HBC land deeds losing recognition?
Didn't that effect mostly Metis, and Catholic sorts.

I never heard about his work organizing a Province was "debatable"
and wasn't he hiding out as a school teacher in :flagus:.
Encouraged to return to :flagcanada: by the fiendish traitor, Dumont.

I like what I term, the back corners of history.
Riel is one. I first learned of him as a guest character on American
    television westerns.
The problem was and remains, Anglo Saxon Ottawa, not Riel.
And those Anglo Saxons treated Catholics, Metis, as second class.

Per Google on the top with a search
Louis David Riel (/ˈluːi riˈɛl/; French: [lwi ʁjɛl]; 22 October 1844 – 16 November 1885) was a Canadian politician, a founder of the province of Manitoba, and a political leader of the Métis people of the Canadian Prairies.

    Wow!!!

I like those relatively misunderstood parts of our history as well......
to my thinking they could become major sources of job creation in
the future where it will be difficult for us humans to even get a job
flipping burgers once the new A. I. robots begin to be mass produced and
    their cost decreases.

1939 is the era that I think most about playing around with but perhaps I should spend more
    time researching Riel?
