Go to Somalia or Saudi Arabia and try to exercise your rights. Or Russia. Go see what Putin thinks of your rights and freedoms. Or what about the Civil War, where the Confederacy fought to deny the right of slaves (Blacks) to have freedom, and the Bible belt has long drug its feet in allowing full implementation of rights for the Black community. Voter suppression anyone? Rights are dependent on a government's willingness to grant those rights.
I don't know where you live, but I've always lived in liberal areas. Go down to City Hall and see it really is a government of we the people. There is a lot of citizen participation. Your idea of a government as something out there is what is off. It is us. We the people, not them the government. Stop listening to Mark Levin or who ever you are listening to. The opposite of a statist is a corporatist, which, to the hippie in me sees as a sellout. Like how Lindsey Graham has sold his soul.
Impossible, as every country has two kinds of people in it: those who love freedom and those who do not. This being the case, any country which favors the former will seem despotic to the latter. Indeed they do, but those rights have not been secured by the NK gov't. You're leaving out that unalienable rights are granted by the Creator. Securing them is a task delegated to the gov't by its master, the People. Suffrage is not an unalienable right.
<Rule 3> I have been to Russia...several times. I would rather live there any day of the week than in your liberal enclave. Russia is 100X better <Mod Edit>
So if everyone living in poverty just agreed that they were all billionaires there would be no more poverty according to the fallacious nonsense above.
So your position is that there is no longer any American Dream of home ownership because hardworking Americans have been reduced to the lowly status of underpaid and exploited migrant workers while the GREED OBSESSED end up owning as many mansions and private jets as they want. Got it!
we have it better now in the US than it has been at any time in the history of the world. The problem is our people are too soft and too comfortable. Too much is taken for granted, and too much is expected as a “right”. “Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.” I believe we are in the phase where weak men have been made, and soon the hard times will be coming. We might be in the beginning of that phase already. People expect too many free things, and are no longer strong and self reliant.
People who point at successful people and play the GREED card are likely just full of envy because they've made poor life choices. Liberals have no one else to blame but themselves....it's the policies they vote in that makes it harder to get ahead. They seem to think 30 million illegals would help them have an easier life or staying high shouldn't be a job impediment.
Where are those imaginary "rights...granted by the creator"? Is there an ACTUAL LIST of them somewhere? (The DoI is just a declaration but it does not contain any list of these imaginary rights so that doesn't count.) Or are the "creator granted rights" just as imaginary as the "creator" is?
So all of those opioid addicted BLOTUS supporters in the deep red Appalachian states just made "poor life choices" rather than the GREED OBSESSED taking away their jobs? Do those BLOTUS supporter drug addicts "have no one else to blame but themselves" since they voted for your BLOTUS and the GOP that ENABLES the GREED OBSESSED?
Of course they did. And they expected it would. But they never expected that every one would be rich or that everyone's life would be perfect
It was the government by rule and regulation that took away most of those mining jobs in Appalachia...
On one thing I agree: Everyone benefits when wealth creation occurs, rather than wealth preservation. Now, that we have established this fact, why do you think tax cuts to the rich would stimulate the economy? The rich have won the game. The mantra is: If you won the game, why keep playing? It's like the NFL team that leads in the 4th quarter by 30 point. We've all seen how they suddenly quit playing. However, these are the exact type of people the GOP keeps giving huge tax breaks, in the expectation that some of that money will trickle down to the peons. Then, they use that money to lobby politicians for more tax cuts (wealth preservation), because that's a lot easier to do than innovating.
The rich have it better now than even kings 600 years ago. Yet, they still whine and whine about being "overtaxed". They just want to give all their money to their trust fund baby children, to lock in generational wealth, no effort required. Now, who wants the free stuff?
Which shows you don't understand the psychology of the rich. 1st the game isn't over until you die. 2nd the quickest way to lose everything is to stand still. 3rd the real money isn't made in stocks and bonds but In venture capitalism. Find and help fund the next face book, or the next Google or the next Steve Jobs.
I see nothing wrong with that. If I was super rich I’d give it to my kids too. I’m the one who earned that money, so I should choose who that money goes to. The government can **** right off and get their hands out of my pocket.
Like i said. You don't understand the very bssic premise of the constitution. You don't live under any government. The government exists to serve you! You are it's master, you are not it's subject.
The declaration of independence says we have rights apart from government. It says ir in explicit clear English.. There is no way to be mistaken about it. It is literally impossible to believe in our constitution and hold the view that you do.
Federal revenue went up.. we are taking in more money now than we did before the tax cuts.. we have massive spending problems not tax income problems. Had we not spent the money they would have more than paid for themselves. Boulder schools suck apparently. Math and English. Seem to have escaped you.
Math is racist and English? Well, look no further than some posts on this forum or in some of our written opinion pieces and news. More and more I see incorrect usage of than and then, there they’re their, and vs. an, went/gone. Feel good curriculums are dumbing down our future. Watch “Idiocracy”.
