QUOTE: “Mr. Trump did not directly tell me to lie to Congress, that’s not how he operates. In conversations we had during the campaign, at the same time I was actively negotiating in Russia for him, he would look me in the eye and tell me, ‘there’s no Russian business,’ and then go on to lie to the American people by saying the same thing. In his way, he was telling me to lie.”

Trump doesn't have to directly order someone to do his bidding, he makes it very clear what he wants without putting anything on the record by asking. Republicans have lashed themselves to this mast since the White House’s own reconstructed transcript of the Trump–Zelensky call was disclosed. That document, so damaging that one might think its release was the work of Trump’s opponents rather than Trump himself, left no doubt that the president had strong-armed President Zelensky whose own country, Ukraine, which was being besieged by Russia in order to get political dirt to use against Biden for his campaign. Just to remind you, that phone conversation between Trump and Zelensky was more than 30 minutes long, yet Trump selectively released only a portion of that 30 minute call.

Trump has stated on multiple occasions that Mitch McConnell claimed that the call to Zelensky was 'perfect' and 'innocent.. Mitch McConnell has all but said that Trump outright lied because as he stated to the press that he had never spoken with Trump about the call.

President Zelenskyy: We are ready to continue to cooperate for the next steps specifically we are almost ready to buy more Javelins from the United States for defense purposes.

The President: I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it. I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say Crowdstrike… I guess you have one of your wealthy people… The server, they say Ukraine has it. There are a lot of things that went on, the whole situation. I think you’re surrounding yourself with some of the same people. I would like to have the Attorney General call you or your people and I would like you to get to the bottom of it. As you saw yesterday, that whole nonsense ended with a very poor performance by a man named Robert Mueller, an incompetent performance, but they say a lot of it started with Ukraine. Whatever you can do, it’s very important that you do it if that’s possible.

Trump asmonished Zelensky that the U.S. had been very generous to Ukraine but that there hadn’t always been reciprocity. He then said he needed a “favor” and launched into the DNC-server garbage that he’d picked up from Reddit or Alex Jones or something, followed by demands that Ukraine investigate the Bidens. You want something from me for your country? You’ve gotta give me what I ask for my personal benefit. The “something,” by the way, was legally appropriated by Congress.

It's obvious you're in the dark about 'special forces'. They've been mired in scandal in the past and under Pentagon review.

Spec ops in trouble: Mired in scandal and under Pentagon review, what will it take to clean house?

[snip] A SEAL and a former Green Beret are under indictment for alleged war crimes committed downrange. Two Marine Raiders and two SEALs are charged with the murder of a Green Beret while the group served in Mali in 2017. Elsewhere, operators have been investigated for, or convicted of, spousal murder, sexual assault, child rape, domestic battery and drug smuggling, or have taken their own lives.

And in the wake of the botched October 2017 Niger mission that killed four Army special operations soldiers, a two-star Air Force general, a Green Beret captain and his noncommissioned officer-in-charge face punishment. A 6,300-page investigation found that the team had been untrained and unrehearsed for the mission, and lacking proper oversight in its chain of command.[/snip] https://www.militarytimes.com/news/...agon-review-what-will-it-take-to-clean-house/

    https://science.howstuffworks.com/delta-force.htm
    How Delta Force Works

Consider a special operations force that's trained to the highest level in the United States military. The force is armed with cutting-edge weaponry, well-funded and answers only to one man. How can a group -- trained as professional assassins and approaching the status of mercenaries -- be reeled in if the U.S. government won't even confirm that the group exists? Does such a force make the United States safer or more vulnerable? It's questions like these that swirl around the United States' most elite tactical combat group, the Delta Force.

Delta Force is often referred to as Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta. It's also known as the Combat Applications Group (CAG). While it often draws its ranks from the Army Special Forces (the Army Green Berets) and shares Fort Bragg, N.C., headquarters with them, it isn't an Army Special Forces detachment. Delta Force is a unit unto itself, composed of members from all branches of the military.

They're not called soldiers, but operators and are said to shun the traditional philosophies of military life. They wear civilian clothes. They work for whomever needs them -- for the Army, the FBI and the CIA. Mark Bowden, author of the book "Blackhawk Down" -- for which he interviewed several Delta Force members -- famously said of the operators, "They are professional soldiers who hate the Army" [source: Military.com].

It must be said that neither the United States government nor the military officially acknowledges the existence of Delta Force. To this end, almost all of the information contained in this article is unsupported by any official reports from the United States. It's only in recent years that vague references by the government to the group's existence have been allowed to go uncensored. These references have turned up in transcripts from Congressional hearings and biographies of high-ranking military leaders.

But it's nearly impossible to keep a force so deadly and made up of the stuff of legends entirely under wraps. Since its inception in 1977, stories of the Delta Force's exploits and missions have leaked out, little by little, eventually forming a brief sketch of the unit. In 1993, Delta Force came under the microscope when its operators were among those who fought and died in a failed operation to remove a Somali warlord. And in Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada in 1983, reports of two missions by Delta Force -- one failed and one successful -- have become common knowledge [source: SOC].

But the group has been criticized for undertaking missions that are on the fringe of regular laws governing the military. This causes some to worry that Delta Force has more power and less accountability than any military organization in a free democracy should. Delta Force is funded out of secret government accounts, away from the public eye, and is believed to answer only to the president.

But others claim that its purpose -- maintaining the United States' role as a leading power and as the world's police force -- necessitates the lack of restrictions and accountability surrounding its activities.

The Trump children and white house staff used personal email and the whatsup app and they have no idea who has access to those emails and they are probably maintained by foreign outsourced employees

funny how the right doesn't care about that

What a great press conference and the killer question, and response, was when he was asked whether he told Nancy Pelosi about the impending raid!

Delta Force is Army, not from all services. And everything else you wrote seems wrong as well.

So my personal experience is outdated and anectdotal. During my military career, I met and interacted with various Special Forces individuals. Mostly, they were Air Force, as that was the branch that I was in. I also met a few Navy Seals and a couple Green Berets.

Almost to a man, I found them to be of the highest degree of professionalism and character. They are secure in their egos and would laugh, good naturedly, when I would poke at them.

I only met two odd ducks who were anti-social. I couldn't begin to understand their inner guidelines, yet I wouldn't hesitate to put my life in their hands.

Which is why they have chosen the tactic of emigrating to Western countries. This is why more and more Europe is looking like the photo below and why such communities are now extant in the United States. You speak of winning meaningless battles in the Middle East while Muslims are winning the war in Western countries. You may not understand this but your grandchildren will. We have bombed the Middle East into smithereens and the Islamic culture is stronger than it ever was before. Meanwhile in the past twenty years, the culture of the West has been eviscerated. Islam has never looked healthier. Western secular democracy has never looked more frail.

Wrong. The mission dictates the uniform. Try reading the USPR.

Civilians pretending to know crap about the military is hilarious

I've asked this more than three times on this forum so far, but I'll ask again. What did Adam Schiff lie about. It's also quite ironic that people that have been supporting the Liar-In-Chief with more than 12,000 documented lies to the American public would not contrive some sort bogus conspiracy theory against a Congressman --- but then, we need to remember, this Congressman is leading an investigation to impeach the Liar-In-Chief and that may have a lot to do with Trump trying to paint Schiff as the bad guy.
