    I want more overstatement. The victors write the history books. Al Baghdadi shall go down in history as the little bitch who ran sobbing into a dead end tunnel with an unholy unclean hound of hell on his trail, where he was so pathetic he only took out 3 of his own children when he set off his suicide vest. Allah wouldn't even save him from an "unclean" dog.

    I ****ing LOVE the hyperbole. I also love hearing liberals cry "liar!!!" over it.

    I am not standing up for him. I am simply stating what I believe the situation to be. It is immaterial whether people want to slag him off. It is obvious it is not true. It is immaterial to me. I just note what is - though I think it is a bit sad when the best a President can do is make things up. I do not see that as helping in any way. His followers are not going to be fooled that he died like a dog yelping for help. They know he deliberately killed himself so that he would not be taken prisoner and tortured and humiliated. I think they would be more likely to want to show the US what they are made of after Trump's comments.

    You also need to remember that the US has harmed a lot of people, even been involved in a lot of the work of these people. An awful lot of people have had loved ones killed by the US and disgusting though these groups are that appears to be why people join them. Of course also the US destruction of States. Can't remember his name for the moment but a historian, Timothy Snyder, reckons the reason the holocaust happened, the reason people were able to act with such inhumanity was because of the destruction of states and with that the norms which hold them together. In many ways the US destruction of the ME and the rise of people acting in that way seems similar.

    Seems like it would be pretty heavily in his interests to provide proof of life if this was all some sham.

    To start with, it would heavily embolden ISIS. Secondly, it would ruin Trump.
