If all the bugs die, we all starve.

The bugs aren’t going to die. Good grief.

Fire in Paradise traces how the blaze was sparked by a failed power line belonging to the country’s largest energy company, PG&E — who had previously been warned that its transmission towers were aging and components might fail. The company has a long history of safety violations, and a criminal conviction for a gas explosion in 2010: “If PG&E was an individual and not a corporation, I think by now they would be in prison,” Russell Gold of The Wall Street Journal tells FRONTLINE.

Yes, the bugs will be here long after humans are gone.

Yes. Insects have amazing ability to react to selection pressures and adapt/survive. I fight this ability in my business. If we can’t kill insects intentionally, they aren’t going anywhere because of a little temp increase.

The fact the bug argument works on people is testament to the gullibility and lack of practical knowledge involved here.

The entire ‘species are going extinct due to global warming’ meme is based on some absurd computer model. When alarmists are asked to name one species that has gone extinct the cannot produce one species.

One of the problems with the polar bear hoax was that nobody ever knew how many existed before the “scare”. Kind of hard to come to objective conclusions when there is no factual starting point.

We don’t have any idea how many species exist. It’s a guess. We discover/document new ones hand over fist. But they are all dying. It’s beyond nuts.

They are responsible for some of it but not all. The other responsible party is the last few governors. If they would up grade the grid, clear dead trees and brush, plus build reservoirs with back up generators things would be much better. I live in Northeastern Cali and our biggest fear are fires. We are on a separate water and power system and are usually ok in those areas.

PG&E is the largest donator to the California Democratic Party. They also do what the looney left wants by investing tons of money in "Green Energy", while closing their biggest real Green Energy asset for the state in 2024 (Diablo Canyon Nuclear). Instead of investing in underground lines, clearing power line areas, and lobbying for underbrush clean up and some clear cut breaks, we have our state relegated to 3rd World status, because of Democrats.

This is true. Damn shame if Mexico is doing better than California. Wonder if there power is out and land is burning?

None of the plants operating in the 70s were supposed to still be operating today. But they still are. The technology is fine. The people managing it are lunatics.

The latest fire in SoCal started when a branch touched a power line due to wind. Maybe if the state of California didn’t require an environmental impact study that tree would have been cut down because it was too close to the power lines.

You were provided with information. You cannot really believe that your strategy which is denying top research is going to influence anyone. Some Americans are just so scared that it might cost them a couple of dollars to leave this planet for those who come later. While I do not think the poorest should pay for this I have nothing but contempt for this attitude.

The lights are on but nobody’s home. He is now threatening law suits against PG&E which the state of California controls. Can’t make this up.

The real contempt goes to those who claim that the Earth will end soon with no facts to back them up.

California once was Republican. Now it’s a prime example of the destruction caused by Progressive policies.
