The article goes on to say that the victim had to explain this to his young children, who did not understand why the attacker was so angry with their father. Unfortunately we live in a world that is on the brink of being consumed by conservative hatred. I fear that these attacks will soon become the norm.

I take your point, but differ with the use of the word "conservative." The people to which you refer aren't conservative but a cult of personality and hate against all things not WASP. A conservative loves the Constitution and the country. He/she likes the concept of small government, will fight for freedom and justice, and understands the benefit of moderate capitalism.
Hopefully this doesn't become a trend like it is in England or like the knock out game was here. I only scanned the story because I'm on a phone, but other than describing the perp as a man, are there any other indications of who he might be? When I see CNN leaving out specifics I get a little suspicious. And who goes around carrying acid with them? Plus ya gotta give CNN credit, they managed to blame Trump for this.

6 years prison is the justified sentence in my view. Maybe 8 because acid attacks are the absolute worst of the worst. Could have been an honor thing from the religion of peace for all I care, do the crime, do the time.

Everyone - You can get concentrated Sulfuric acid at any industrial cleaning company - it is used as drain cleaner. Other concentrated acids Hydrochloric -Nitric - are easily obtained over the counter as they are used in numerous industrial applications.
Actually, I think it was a politician who blamed Trump and CNN made sure his quote got into the story.
