Trump Jr wrote a book called TRIGGERED, HOW THE LEFT THRIVES ON HATE AND WANTS TO SILENCE US. Ironically the title works just as well if you replace “Left” with “right”. The title of the book shows just how easy it is to see the negatives of the side we oppose while being oblivious to like negatives on our own side. I have no doubt that Trump Jr is an intelligent man, yet his intelligence is no match for his baser tribal nature which makes him a hypocrite. If each side spent as much time looking inward for the problem as they do blaming those they are at odds with, then America would be better for it. But as that goes against human nature the chaos will continue on indefinitely. It is human nature to place more value upon feelings than the objective use of logic and we tend to mistake the former for the latter.
Ummmmmmm, NO You can't compare both sides as 50/50 The right does NOT try to shut down liberal speakers at colleges The right does NOT try to change the 1st ammendment Sure there are corrupt people on both sides but the right isn't notorious for trying to SILENCE the other side. Sure they rip on them but they don't try and put them in a situation where they can say NOTHING in the first place HUGE DIFFERENCE
I did not make a 50/50 comparison and am wise enough to know that each side will say that the other is guilty of the greater hypocrisy. I say that in a race to rock bottom that 2nd place is nothing to brag about. So long as each side points the bony finger of indignation outward the problem will continue as the solution is for each side to clean their own side of the street as opposed to looking past the pile of garbage on their side while hypocritically taking issue with the trash on the other side of the street.
But the rules can't be dem-style, where their complaint is righteous and any opposition is BS. There is such a vast history of their use of that double standard in the last few years that you could write a fat book and never cover it all. While our elections do have a personal popularity side, voters also must face the practical reality side- and that says performance matters most.

the right is not denied either unless they are trying to preach hate - good republicans speak at colleges all the time the right most definitely tries to attack the 1st Amendment... the media, religious freedoms, ect....

Apologies if I took your thread out of context. I still believe blocking of free speech is more of something the left does, but your post doesn't even mention that.
Don Jr. is right. The LEFT always tries to take the words of ordinary people and twist it into something sinister. They got their panties in a bunch over the Charlottesville protestors who chanted "Jews will not replace us," but never bothered to check what they were replacing.
Apology accepted and respected. Few on the left I have talked to support shouting down opponents. Even President Clinton has publicly taken a stand against such tactics. Do not assume that the exception (that being those who shout opponents down) are the rule. Democrats are roughly 25% of the population and I have seen no evidence that anything other than a minority in the party support such disruptive tactics. I consume conservative media so I am aware of the propaganda they peddle such as liberals being against the 1A. There are fringe elements on the left as well as the right. Media on both sides try to present the exceptions as the rule. Both sides pedal their partisan propaganda. That is why I like more balanced sources such as The Christian Science Monitor, The Wall Street Journal among other more centrist and objective publications.
