My fear for the nation began on the day Trump was made the GOP nominee. Because win or lose it marked the point at which Repub primary voters showed the country they had lost their minds.

Tells me a lot about Bill Moyers.

As the swamp drains, the gasps and silent screams of its mucky inhabitants are overtaken
by the applause generated from their flopping about.

Trump was nominated by the minority of republican voters. Hilary was nominated by the majority of the democratic voters. Explain how it was the republicans who had lost their mindes?

Yes. I can almost hear the gasps and silent screams of Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, Michael Cohen, Carter Page, Rick Gates, Betsy DeVos, the Trump Mafia family,... too many "mucky inhabitants" to name.

Have to agree with Moyers. It's really sad to see so many posts that seem to welcome this. We've become so reliant on Reality Politics and so unwilling to step back and look at the whole big picture of what's happening all around us. A perfect example of that would be blaming the other side for all the problems. Let's have a jelly doughnut instead of a civil war.

    No kidding.

We just went thru three years where the Democrats as a party, the majority of the news media, and their cohorts in the federal government, were spouting lies accusing president Trump of being a traitor to the nation who colluded with the Russians to steal an election. Did this bother Moyers?

The Trump-Russia Story Is Coming Together. Here’s How to Make Sense of It - By Bill Moyers

Bill Moyers is a legendary journalist who has been following and reporting on American and world events for well over a half century. He is and always been respected by his peers. I would say that he is legendary in the same way Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, Ed Murrow are legendary.

The investigation into Russian meddling in our election has revealed that Russia definitely acted to help Trump and hurt Clinton. It did not find enough evidence that Trump actively participated in the plot. Russian intervention is anything but a hoax or a witch hunt. By repeating that lie, you expose yourself as illiterate.

Dan Rather was and is a great American and a great investigative journalist. So was Mike Wallace.

Good to hear a voice who is not forming an opinion based on partisan politics. It takes an honest person to accept that most often there are scum bags across the partisan and ideological lines.

As soon as he left the Steelers, he crapped out. Just like Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burres and now António Brown. The Steelers CREATE great receivers out of middle or low round draft picks. John Stallworth, Louis Lipps, Hines Ward.......

Yes we did. And before that we had 8 years of a lying overeducated incompetent democratic president.

We're all dependent upon those we associate with. I am dependent upon those I do business with, and they are dependent upon me. My family is dependent upon me, and I them. However, I don't need or want to associate with lefties.

Basically, it's about freedom of association. One of those universal human rights that the left used to champion.

My initial point was independence from reliance on government. I am also dependent on others, but not on people who either don’t care about my well being or want to use me. “Freedom of association” is a good way to cover all the bases. Leaves people who want to be indentured servants for life that option...

:) If you don’t want to associate with lefties what are you doing on PF? It’s association for entertainment purposes only, right?
