Trump committed the plot, the impeachment is a result of his getting caught

Senators would have to vote for secrecy in public vote. So, those voting yes would have to answer quite a few questions at home.

Well, some have already mentioned it in this thread. This impeachment process, or getting to impeachment proceedings (if we really do) cannot help but be a political process with various agendas from both sides of the aisle, within each party and the media. If the vote is allowed to be private now and it has a perceived consequence (it leads to the difference needed to begin an impeachment process, or it leads to no impeachment process) then at least side is going to cry foul, and later on with a Democrat President (as you kind of hinted at with both sides wanting what they want) Republicans may try the exact same tactics.

More importantly, a private vote on such a grand-scale will change the fabric of how our government votes on other matters; this would potentially start a trend. The government is secretive enough as it is...

Clinton, yes. Nixon? Too young to remember him, much less have an opinion about it.

But he didn’t do anything. But BIDEN did it. We have him on video admitting it. What you think Trump did is what you THINK he did. The whistleblower who didn’t even witness anything and others who disagreed with what they thought he did or wha they think he meant are political operatives. The man leading this whole charade LIED multiple times about how he had evidence Trump was a Russian spy. It’s all a complete joke now.

it’s a political ploy in the hopes of defeating him before the election and nothing more.

IF something new comes to the table I’ll happily say toss his ass out. But there is NO EVIDENCE OF ANY WRONG DOING. Nothing. Just opinions. You don’t impeach on opinions or feelings, sorry. You have no facts only feelings.

if you gave 2 shits about corruption you would have been screaming for Hillary to be tossed in prison because THAT was actual corruption. Otherwise it’s all biased hateful politics and sore feelings over getting your asses kicked in 2016. Just grow some nuts and vote him out in 2020. Shouldn’t be hard since he is a total moron after all, right? Should be easy to beat since it’s so obvious what a corrupt man he is. Or maybe it’s all in your head and you’ve been brainwashed by negative lies being fed to you day after day. Just beat him fair and square and call it a day.

Hillary was way way way ahead of Trump in the 2016 polls and Trump still won, BECAUSE OUR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS ARE BASED ON ELECTORAL VOTE, NOT THE POPULAR VOTE.

    NEXT!!!!!

How is that relevant here? What multiple attempts to 'overthrow' were there?

For me, you do not need to explicitly discuss the German government nor what Hitler did in detail since I was by the burned out Reichstag and know the entire story very well. So let's go to Trump again.

Trump has not been proven to hold funding. As near as I can learn, it came from OMB. I can cite the closest person to the actual funding and her testimony. So let me do it. She stated to both the Democrat questioner and the republican questioner she is in the dark who stopped the funding. None of us can make the call who stopped since she was directly in the middle of said funding. She put the chocks to Schiff's case. Read what Ms. Cooper told the people asking her questions. I understand RICO and frankly that law stomps all over American rights to keep us from fearing Government.

Since the funds were not actually withheld, only delayed a short time, there is nothing there to impeach any of those in the chain of command over said funding.

Take what we know about Tillerson and John Kelly, it is alleged they worked to block Trump and delayed carrying out presidential orders in the Haley book. She really paints them as disloyal to their office responsibilities.

As to how Trump built the wall using DOD Funds, that is what you can be explicit about. So let's see you make that case. I do not recall it as you say you do.

I repeat, the funds to Ukraine were not withheld, merely delayed a short time.

The "Whistleblower" made his case that Trump did a quid pro quo. But Ukraine denies it completely.

Democrats can get this to first base but never get the homerun. Schiff is barking up his own tree and nothing is up there.

Have you ever noticed that the Democrats have never shown us the actual order to Fund Ukraine nor the fact finding order that comes from Presidents? Ms. Cooper who testified and knows this, says she does not know who it was that temporarily held up funding. She thinks it may have come from OMB. Suppose it came from the top at the DOD tho?

Clinton lied as well to a Federal court of law. Trump, if he actually held the funding, was operating as a professional would. I am amazed so many Democrats want to rush taxpayer money to Ukraine for weapons. By the way, a document hardly mentioned is a deposition from Clinton to the Congress. And he lied all the way through that too. Still what happened to Clinton? He was not convicted. And that is a damned shame.

And where nobody fears anyone you have sanity. Representatives in a Republic should feel free to vote their consciences. They are elected to act in what they feel are their constituent's best interests and not always as they feel or know their constituents might wish. (This is far more true of Senators than representatives)

It was pointed out here that secrecy is desirable in certain special cases and this certainly seems to be one of those

A professional would bribe a foreign leader for his own personal benefit with millions of taxpayer dollars?

Really, given all the coverage of this potential impeachment, you ask that?
