The dems really screwed Ukraine. They gave up their nukes with the agreement that the US would defend them if needed.

The time came and not only did Obama not defend them-he sent a bunch of blankets as you point out.

Russia (and crimea) used tanks heavily in the conflict. Javelin missiles would have put a halt to any advance if well deployed.

If you take the words phone call out of your last sentence it would be correct.
The extortion did not end with the phone call.

Hearing Highlights – Jordan, Stefanik and Ratcliffe Deconstruct Impeachment Narrative…

Day One of the Pelosi, Schiff and Lawfare effort to publicly construct support for the impeachment of President Trump ends. Within the questioning of State Department officials George Kent and Bill Taylor the value of adding Jim Jordan to the hearings became clear.

Jim Jordan, Elise Stefanik and John Ratcliffe methodically deconstructed the false premise advanced by the impeachment crew. It became clear that both Kent and Taylor held no specific and direct knowledge of the substance behind the claims made by the democrats leading the effort. Here’s a few highlights starting with Jim Jordan:

I think Jordan set a record today. He yelled for 5 minutes, but never asked a question.

At the very least he was protection to get any investigators to back off, what with the son of the sitting US VP on the board. Since he wasn't selling his qualifications for that $50K a month, what was he selling if not his last name?

And I salute whomever in the Trump administration got this done, plus the rare bi-partisan congressional support...

I'm positive it didn't originate from the desert wasteland that is the mind of Donald J. Trump...

Rudy can be tied to only Trump.

He asked at least two questions in the first minute, so what are you talking about?

Day one laid out the details of the United States historic relationship with Ukraine and presented a detailed update of the events surrounding the Trump involvement in the relationship. It was a very sound foundation and it all held up under cross. Republicans wanted to talk about Biden, Obama, Hillary, 2016 election, and other matters unrelated to the current investigation. The witnesses were solid and stuck to the facts. Overall, a good day for presentations of facts. Guiliani came up multiple times.

Fact one: It was Trump alone that froze the aid for political purposes.

Help me out, ron? Taylor's staffer?? Do you mean Bolton's staffer, Fiona Hill?

The only ones coming after Sondland next week are Laura Cooper (DOD), David Hale (State), and Hill (NSC)....

I would have assumed Sondland would be last, but now I sort of like them putting 3 people on after him. Nonetheless, I think he's the lynchpin to this story (that will be testifying to date)...

A couple of good highlights from your link:

    "Burisma was a corruption problem.
Obama thought Burisma was a problem.
Mr. Kent thought Burisma was a problem.
Trump thought Burisma was a problem.

    Hence the anti-corruption request."

"I do not have any first hand knowledge" Amb. Taylor

Taylor also affirmed at the time of the call there was no Ukranian knowledge of a hold on military aid, so how can there be a QPQ?

It's sort of funny that UKRAINE didn't think Burisma was enough of a problem to re-initiate investigations on their own though...

Are you telling me alleged "nude pictures of Trump" shouldn't be a primary topic brought up today??

Damn... that certainly might have spiked the ratings.... Go figure...

After Plugs scared off the investigators.

Why did Obama think Burisma was a problem?

As you point out there could not have been a QPQ.

We did have confirmed today that Obama was worried about Biden's Ukraine connections.

If a 'desert wasteland mind' beat your gal Hillary, what do you call her mind?

Many moons ago... a new anti-corruption Prez comes in and takes many immediate steps in his country, but doesn't think Burisma is on any burner, until told he needs to care about re-opening that dog with fleas...

It's like if somebody came in and told our President to re-open the Enron investigation...

But even if Burisma, or it's owner, did something wrong years ago, why would it matter today and why should the US care??

    Answer - We shouldn't...
