You can't hunt - what - with an AR?

    Below, see a 3-round 1.543" group 308 Winchester, fired from 300yds - a 1/2 MOA group.
These were 175gr Sierras, launched at 2705fps, fired from the rifle pictured below the target.

For those of you who don't know the 2nd isn't there in case the white-tails revolt and relentlessly bleat "you can't hunt what an AR", I ask you:

I live in North America: What -can't- I hunt with an AR?

AR's are neat guns... They are good for a lot of different purposes.

Indeed - the AR may be the most versatile platform in the history of firearms.

    Yes.

It was designed to be versatile. And it is.

And yet the Colt manufacturing company advertised the AR-15 to sportsmen when it was first created.

I could, but the picture was too graphic. Why do you want to kill everything? If you need food then go to the supermarket. You're insane for your guns.

People can hunt with this abortion, for sure, and often they're hunting human beings - which is the point.

Real hunters only need single shot bolt action. One shot--many meals.

    "Abortion"
Ah good - you agree that people CAN hunt with an AR. Thank you.

To my knowledge, no one in the US has been "hunted" - however you mean the term - with a rifle such as the one shown in the OP.
    Feel free to show otherwise.

Irrelevant. The second amendment of the united states constitution is not about hunting. Therefore a firearm does not need to be particularly well suited for hunting a given species in order to qualify for constitutional protections. And as the united states federal government has admitted firearms such as the AR-15 are not military firearms, they are nothing more than regular, everyday firearms used by the general public for legal purposes.

If you eat meat someone had to kill it. What is the difference?

So you agree - an AR can be used to hunt any game in North America, and thus, those who say you can't hunt with an AR don't know what they're talking about.
    Thank you

The first firearms were designed by chinese peasants to overthrow the professional military of their tyrannical ruler.

So, technically speaking, firearms were never meant for hunting.

Not that it matters in the slightest. Neither are cannons, yet thats what started the 'hot' part of the revolutionary war- when the Brittish came to confiscate cannons.

Which are still legal for civilians to own, btw, as long as they're not rifled or attached to a vehicle.
