Fantastic post. People who think weed isn't addictive are kidding themselves. It's not anywhere near as bad as nicotine, but it's definitely addictive.

I respect your choice to leave it alone. Don't get me wrong, I think weed is fantastic, about to light up in a moment - but to each their own. I use weed fairly regularly, but do enjoy a good tolerance break every few months.

Caffeine is addictive as well, so why not hold caffeine, alcohol, nicotine....under the same scrutiny?
IMO, legalize pot, making sure we regulate and educate.

I do. I'm very wary of my caffeine and alcohol use. I don't go near nicotine, it makes me really jittery and sick.

I am of the opinion that all drugs should be legal and unregulated. Weed especially. I find it hilarious that social conservatives in the United States decry prohibition in one breath, then in the next argue that cannabis prohibition should be strengthened. Makes me laugh. Hard. While on weed :weed:

Legalization and regulation isn't really legalization. It's legalization for certain purposes. It's like a license for a specific use that's granted to all without need for application. I am doing nothing wrong by smoking weed. I would be doing nothing wrong if I were to sell it past the 9pm curfew the state has set for alcohol sales. I would be doing nothing wrong if I provided 24/7 home delivery. Legalization with regulation is, in my opinion, only marginally better. Black markets rock! There's no government regulator standing over your shoulder.

Agreed. We see many becry nicotine legislations while arguing again pot legalization.
Yet, we should set certain limits/regulate....driving/working under the influence, legal age, and again, lets educate people.

i have no grudge against people who use.
i see no reason to not legalize it.

but one should be honest about it , like you.

cigarettes are legal and everyone who smokes them know they will kill you and at least give you cancer or make your life less of a joy physically .lol..to say the least..

alcohol in abusive amounts destroys the organs and nervous system and a plethora of other ailments.

IT'S ALL ABOUT BEING HONEST

Damn right. I can't stand all these hippie new age types who want to legalize and regulate it because it cures cancer, is entirely harmless, and makes rainbows shoot out your ass. Their love for weed doesn't fit with their public health centered politics - so they have to make it seem like weed is harmless to be consistent. It's sort of difficult to be for legalizing weed, but not for legalizing raw milk.

Weed is harmful. This is irrelevant. People are harming no one else by consuming weed. Even if weed leads to violence later on in some small percentage of people (it leads to the opposite in my experience, but whatever) - that's not a valid reason for initiating force against people who want to use it - human intent is responsible.

Bottom line: weed is dangerous. Use it at your own risk, and use it responsibly. Treat it like a dog. Pat him and he's fine, pull on his ears and you're going to get bitten.

There is a problem with any mind altering drug.
i loathe the coffee analogy but, i Know people where coffee intake gives the anxiety attacks, which they are prone to, heart palpitations, which they are prone to, alcohol is an easy target for the addictive personalty, as is weed.

Weed does bring out schizophrenia in people that are prone to it.

all that being said..
society drinks and smokes and uses drugs.
legalizes them gives credence to them and some think more will use it..

well hell yeah…look at tabacky. if it was illegal smokers would be less…but would it be gone…i don't think so.
Although i smoked tabacky for 25 years and can't figure out why i did..did not get much out of it, when i think about it. there was no real high…

anyway..it's up to the person to decide if they want to partake in this part of our society.

It's ingrained now and will never go away so it is time to take it out of the hands of the criminals and terrorists who reap the biggest monetary rewards and spread that wealth into all of society via taxes.

anyway it's refreshing to talk to someone who is honest with themselves.
i recall driving my friend bonkers when i entered my ruin and despair stage of being high every day…it depressed me to me see myself relying on this drug just to live and enjoy anything…

it also drove me nuts that most of my time spent high was used up in a "giggly ha ha what was i just talking about" …and like i smoked 24/7 so it was like all the time…what sort of life am i living anyway..hence ruin and despair

If you like a good Sativa such as Pineapple Express, You will  Kali Snapple

________________________________________________________

Recently I received the gift of a couple of "pens". Well one cigarette system and one pen.
The cartridges are interchangeable. And by the bed side for middle of the night waking, they are really, really nice.

My clinic even sell cartridged oils extracted from various strains and labeled so.
It is the new end of the industry. Just gotta watch out for any butane residues that might work like a glue sniffing high.
But, the industry is switching to a CO2 extraction system that should be purer.

Has there ever been a greater day to be a :weed: head ?

I use 5mg of Sativa or a hybrid twice a day to treat chronic pain. Works great! I use edibles as they are easy to dose out and no one where I live has to smell the pot.

I've been watching this interesting post go nowhere now for four days, and I think you might do well to repost it as an OP for a new thread with a poll asking if people think Neil Young should be admitted for US citizenship.

It's just barbaric that cannabis is still nationally prohibited in my, or any country.

I can't take it. 2 hits is like shotgunning a fifth of jack (or what I suspect shotgunning a fifth of jack would be like).

5 mins of euphoria, 15 mins of mind-blurring nausea, dizzyness and inablity to hold a thought for more than a few seconds, and several hours of trying to sleep away the unpleasantness.

But I know some ppl who's regular usage of it turns them from neurotic trouble-seekers to regular, contended folks.

You could be allergic. I know folks that are. But it's weird because they do good with edibles and oils.

What does that matter?

I know nonsmokers that support us, like I know folks who don't own guns, support 2A folks.

Well, I like Neil Young very much, but I revile marijuana, so of course he should be allowed in as a citizen, but I'm not going to put my name on anything that even smells like I'm okay with marijuana because I most definitely am not, the absurdity of barring Young's citizenship not withstanding.

Why the aversion to weed?

If you don't mind my asking...

It lowers the moral character of a society. Show me one society above the third world or that isn't heading in the direction of down that allows the habitual use of marijuana. I don't believe there are any.

Ha ha. I think I might have gotcha again with the double negative. Must be something about you.

Societal decline has zero to do with weed man. That all started long ago.

The U.S. is circling the bowl, and it's nationally prohibited.

By that reasoning, Alcohol is the cause, since FAR more people partake of that.

But believe what you'd like.

Yeah, I've heard all the pros about marijuana going clear back to the 60's. I'm not goin' there. I would say that there are far more successful people and well-to-do types at a cocktail get together than you'll find hangin' out together smokin' dope.
