Buttigieg used Kenyan stock photo to promote plan for Black America

Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg‘s “Douglass Plan,” a policy plan aimed at addressing America’s longstanding history of racism against Black Americans, was met with support when it was first released in early 2019. Now, it is at the center of controversy after some Black leaders decided to distance themselves from Buttigieg, alleging he faked their endorsement of his plan.

And, to make matters worse, someone pointed out a stock photo used to market the plan featured a Kenyan woman and her child.

Top Democrat Pete Bootygig has struggled to get support from black southern democrats. Some find it off putting that he is both highly religious and gay.

To counter this, Bootygig put together a "plan" to fight racism and asked southern blacks to at least endorse the plan. Then Pete released this "news" to show he had support from a demo he had been struggling with.

Turns out he misrepresented people agreeing with the plan-with southern black dems endorsing him.

And it turns out nearly half of the people aren't black, some names are listed multiple times, and his campaign used stock photos from Kenya.

This is a deplorable and sneaky move by Bootygig, and tinged with racism.

Im surprised he had the nerve to spin it as support for himself-read the article to see what those black dems say about it-they were tricked.

And the cherry on top-stock footage from Kenya? Really Pete?

True, though there aren't many blacks in Iowa.

Blacks are a core constituency for the democrat party.

If he can't get support from blacks how can he run in the general?

Yeah, but how can anyone ignore his total lack of support from blacks? Besides, he's just the mayor of a mid-size town without any real accomplishments. And, if you haven't noticed, he's been stealing lots of Yang's talking points, though stopping short of his UBI. Pretty sure Yang will point that out at the next debate.

 

Seems like Pete is kind of underhanded.

 

He tricked them by saying they endorsed his proposal, that they endorced?
How is that spin?

The only people that care where he got stock images from are partisan hacks trying to push a narrative or people that got upset over black painted pumpkins.

Fools, that should be ignored and ostracized, both groups.

 

See what they had to say-they feel like he tricked them. If the defense to that is "deal with it" he's essentially writing off blacks.

I think going with kenyan stock images hearkens back to 2008, when the Hillary campaign said Obama was born there. To me its a reminder that not much has changed from the democrat party.

This was a crap move on his part-he tried to falsely bolster his approval and ended up pissing everyone off.

 

But this again provides proof of an imponderable conclusion as to whom can actually coalesce a strong following.

Blacks are never going to vote for him, he shouldn’t waste any time on them. It would be like trump trying to get actual fiscal conservatives on his side or people with morals.

If I was a Democratic Party adherent I would tell Buttleledge ( no offense intended I cannot spell for Schiest) that he needs to become a TCP ( Trump Cult) Party member since that is the kind of crap Trump approves of.

Seriously I am sure that Mayor Pete as he likes to be called had no direct detail knowledge as to what his campaign manager approved of. Still Peter Boy is resposible just as Trump is or was for what Manafort or Roger Stone or Guiliani have done in his name.

We can and should bring in examples that support our opinions and comments. The topic is about political campaign ad literature. Trump is running for office and he or his fans have and are putting out campaign ads. The OP is talking about a political campaign ad someone identified as " bootygig" or his staff put out.

So "bootygig" campaign ads and if God principle is to blame for the the details vs Trump campaign ads and whether the principle is to blame for the details.

Funny enough, Harris is blaming sexism/racism (of dems), and Castro is blaming racism (of dems) as being the reason they aren't getting more traction.

 

Trump won with only getting the votes of 27% of registered voters. Mayor Pete could get that even without the anti-gay vote.
