Why did nobody tell Trump that it would be a bad idea to get Ukraine to investigate Biden?

how about Trump's businesses profiting from his Presidency?

most Americans think this is wrong, but both sides do it sadly... and both get away with it

now Trump's children work for the government, so something could be done there - Biden's son did not work for the government

 

Why should trump be held to a different standard then the Democrats before him. If kerry, Pelosi, and biden having families serving on boards in foreign countries is okay, nothing you say about trump or his kids matter.

 

That's up to the Senate i suppose.. that's why i want an extremely thorough investigation there. I want everyone who set foot in Ukraine from 2014 - 2019 questioned under oath, along with every government official that had or os rumored to have anything to do with Ukraine or the 2016 election.

 

I don't trust Graham or McConnell. I think a Senate trial is a trap. Guys like Graham are just waiting for their chance to backstab Republicans and do maximum damage. If Graham is investigating anything it is how to clear Democrats of any wrong doing and shift the blame on trump.

The Hill reports, "New polling showing public opposition to impeachment has some Republicans along with officials in the White House voicing skepticism that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will go through with a vote on articles of impeachment.

"While Pelosi has not guaranteed there will be a vote, it’s hard to imagine she would risk a backlash from the Democratic base by cutting the process short after two weeks of public hearings."

Many disagree with that statement. Pelosi is a savvy politician. She knows the purpose of impeachment is to remove the President. She also knows that a failed impeachment attempt could very easily result in having the opposite effect.

Many Democrats saw the hearings as providing damning testimony against Trump. “The hearings were nearly flawless and extremely damning for the president,” said an aide to the Democratic House leadership.

So what if public opinion is against the Democrats. So what if the votes aren't there and impeachment fails. The clueless aide talks like impeachment will remove Trump, or is itself the end result. Neither is true.

There are serious doubts the savvy Pelosi and Democratic leadership will continue with the Articles of Impeachment if public opinion isn't there and neither are the votes in the Senate.

Instead, Pelosi may decide to keep making Trump look bad and let the American voter remove him in November.

According to the article, they apologized to him, and offered to help get him to the U.S. where he could defend his reputation. This is apparently a Shokin defense story told to Solomon. [Shokin, apparently, could never get a visa to the U.S.].
Problem is that no one, among all of those countries and organizations demanding he be fired, concurred with his story. And, the affidavit obtained by Solomon (and also given to Rudy) was to the Austrian Court (the article says a "European Court") supporting his Ukrainian oligarch friend Dmitry Firtash in his fight against being extradited to the U.S. on bribery and fraud charges, under the Corrupt Foreign Business Practices Act, on an unrelated issue.

I don't think Trump cares that much about reelection. I think he cares about his ego.

I really think he believes that Ukraine did him wrong in 2016 and wants someone to go down for it. I don't think wanting Ukraine to investigate Biden has anything to do with finding dirt to help in 2020.
