The only abuses have been on the part of Democrats who still haven't gotten over Republicans taking away their slaves along with the normal temper tantrum they throw when they are outsmarted at election time.

Nah, they're full of the farms that provide the food you eat.

But you're right, not really important.

Amendments to the constitution affect less populated states as well. Are we a union of states or a central government with 50 provinces.

As is usual, the progressive left so vehemently agrees with their own opinions and agenda that they desire to institute it with force on everybody else.

But the legislators can be controlled by a majority of state voters. This is how “the people are the rightful masters of the congress and the court”.

The problem is no states voters can be informed and unify to exercise democracy with their perceptions of the INTENT of the constitution. This, while the people pursuant to the 9th Amendment are the only entity that can define rights retained but not written.

This truly defines the great information gaps and disabled discourse between the people and how it cripples a constitutional democracy.

Democrats need to just own up to it like Hillary Clinton did.

They want to tear up the Constitution and start from scratch.

That will require a war to do so, they will however invent all kinds of stupid examples of why they are right, chalked up with percentages to use single variable analysis to make massive decisions.

Problem for them is that Democrats lose in a civil war.. that's the real reason they want to axe the 2nd ammendment as much as possible.

The issue the OP is talking about is that the way it's setup, even if the vast majority of americanswant to see an amendment passed, a tiny fraction in a handful of states can block it. It's a very undemocratic system.

The US is not, and was never intended to be, a Democracy.
As such, there are innumerable instances where the majority, by design, does not rule.

The delegates purposely eschewed mob rule.

Sorry, but your wrong! passing an amendment to the Constitution is not based on popular vote, but by the states, which requires two-third of the states to vote to approve, but only if two-thirds of Congress votes to approve! Therefore, its a ridiculous waste of time to even discuss it, because its never going to happen!

"never going to happen"? More than two dozen amendments to the U.S. Constitution have been passed and ratified.

personallly, I believe that ratification should take the form of a board of appointed delegates, who vote on whether or not to ratify a treaty or amendment. The number of delegates would be based on population. 3/5 of the delegates have to vote to ratify, not 3/5 of the states.

Why should a treaty between two sovereign states have anything to do with their respective population?

I am talking about how treatied and constitutional amendments are ratified. I think it should be based on population, instead of simply the number of states.

Why? Why should the relationship between sovereign states be in any way based upon their respective populations?

    Sovereign Power
. ... Nations and states are also sometimes described as "sovereign." This means that they have power over themselves; their government is under their own control, rather than under the control of an outside authority.Aug 27, 2019

BTW supporters of the ERA need to be in front of the supreme court carrying lit torches (in the numbers of 100s of thousands) when the case comes to supreme court as whether "time limits" that are not in the actual wording of the amendment can stop it. With a clear and expressed warning, that "They best rule wisely, they can't arrest us all"

One person having the right to tell another person what they may do? Seriously? What is this some sort of fascism?
