Only 2.27% of the population can prevent a constitutional amendment that's a problem.

If you can get liberal city dwellers and more conservative rural people to agree that it's a good amendment, then it's probably a pretty dang good amendment.

The requirement that 75% of the states agree to it is a good check against a tyranny of the majority.

Women do have equal rights. It's an unnecessary amendment. I'm against unnecessary changes to laws and the Constitution.

The privileges can be removed at any time by legislation. Plus we still have many cases of sex segregation in this country.

No they can't, due to equal protection under the law. There is nothing in the Constitution that says that women don't have equal rights.

We are a Representative Republic. Not a direct democracy. As for the electors, I'm not sure how other states work it. But here in Georgia prior to the election each candidate on the ballot submits his slate of electors to our Secretary of State. Who ever wins Georgia, that candidate's slate of electors cast their electoral votes. I was one of Ross Perot's electors back in 1996.

In other words, either the candidate or that candidate's party selects the electors for him in case he wins. The other slate of electors do not get to cast a single vote. Just the slate of the winning candidate.

The people in government, and those same people could at any time remove said privileges

This is yet another reason why our system is eventually doomed as demographics favor urban areas and rural states lose populations to urban dominated states. At some point, the vast majority of Americans will cease to believe in a system that gives so much power to so few people who share very little with the majority. The trap we are in shows how futile the amendment clause has become in changing our constitution. Sure, we may be able to pass some meaningless amendment but real change will be impossible under the current system and differences between the small states and the larger ones. How long do people think the masses will tolerate this setup? As with all systems, when the vast majority no longer support it, drastic measures are taken. We are not immune from history. It will happen if the current trends continue unabated.

    I'm a person. Can I remove my neighbor's privileges?

Elected by people who have the right to remove my neighbor's privileges? Who are these people who have the right to remove their neighbor's privileges and can hire me to do this for them?
