No, it isn't sexist or meant to be rude, it's simply biological. If you can't get pregnant, you can't understand how important it is to have bodily autonomy. Every woman is different, every woman makes the choice that's best for her, and every woman has a right to complete privacy regarding what does or doesn't happen in her body. I stand by my earlier post.

If you aren't the one who is pregnant, it's none of your business. I can't be any clearer than that.

you'll have to explain how men's opinions don't matter is a biological thing cuz it sounds like political claptrap to me but how listen to your explanation.
I sure can understand, understanding is how human civilization works if we can understand each other that would be no civilization we would be at War all the time.
yes and that decision can give her control over a man's finances for the duration of the child's life.

All this whole argument boils down to, is a man has to think this through before he has sex why can't a woman do that?
If you can come after me through courts and hold me accountable financially for your choice it damn sure is my business.

    That's why I said this isn't about women's health.

Those that are opposed to abortion are de facto anti-choice.

Actually I'm anti abortion. I think it's a horrible procedure for women to endure and for many a traumatic choice to make. To that end I support ending unwanted pregnancies in the first place. Temporary chemical sterilization of men for example or separate water fountains in high schools that have hormone balancers for the boys. The later has the extra benefits of the boys and girls being able to actually concentrate in school.

That said, if a woman does choose an abortion that's her business and no stigma should be associated with it.

I remind you, this bill has 19 co-sponsors out of 99 legislators. Earlier this year they signed into law a bill that prohibited abortions after a heart beat began. That's as little as three weeks, ie before many women even suspect they're pregnant.
They know it will be stricken down in court now, the operative word being now. Clearly their objectives, despite the expense of money wasted on court, is to have a bill handy if the Supreme Court should overturn Roe vs Wade and return control to the states and to score points with the far right in Ohio.
It's negligent for people to ignore these extremists bills, they have to be always exposed for what they are or someday you may wake up to draconian laws in your life.

That's what they said about the heartbeat law yet it passed. The courts had to intervene. Considering how many federal justices rated unqualified we have now I don't want to have to rely on them.

In which case we are in agreement. :)

The fewer unwanted pregnancies the better for all concerned IMO.

Not sure if kids drink from water fountains in schools any longer. Probably have to spike their sodas instead. ;)

I think you are correct...we shouldn't under estimate the level of misogyny and lust for power shown by these monsters...

...think how powerful they'll be when half the population loses the right of bodily autonomy !!

..think how powerful they can become with half the population nothing more than slaves and sex toys....unable to vote or fight back....

To the surprise of many you can be anti abortion and pro choice

    Still blue outlined how

In fact i5 is a stance many here also take

We ALL want fewer abortions it is just that we see the way to do that is act positively by making Long Acting reliable, reversible contraceptives free and providing appropriate education with them

While being proudly in favor of the death penalty, warmongering and the mentally ill having access to firearms any of which NEGATES the principle on which they are anti women's rights.

No one supports or likes abortion. Anyone who says different is either a foolish ideologue or is trying to sell you something.

What people that defend the right of women to decide for themselves is that abortion is a lot more complex a thing than opponents would claim.

If you want to fight abortion, fine, donate money to Planned Parenthood. Demand your legislators pass laws to support motherhood, pre and post natal care, adoption, many other ways of supporting babies and children and mothers.

I know you hate to hear it, but if those were 100% effective we would have no STD’s and no unwanted pregnancies. Abstinence is not feasible, but it is 100% effective. You will not get an std if you are not sexually active(medical blood transfusions and sharing needles aside, but at that point are they sexually transmitted? Topic for another thread I guess) nor can you get pregnant.

Again I say, it’s not feasible, and that’s due to human nature, but it is 100% effective against std’s and pregnancies if practiced.

You actually assigned a position to me I do not hold. Abstinence is 100% effective, but not feasible. Use condoms, practice safe sex, get educated and you reduce your risk greatly, but it won’t be zero. Don’t put that lie into people’s heads.

It’s not misogyny that’s responsible for this insanity, it’s Christian mysticism.

To see the future under the control of the Religious Right, I suggest reading a novel by Kira Peikoff, Living Proof.

    The background of the novel:

“In 2027, destroying an embryo is considered first-degree murder. Fertility clinics still exist, giving hope and new life to thousands of infertile families, but they have to pass rigorous inspections by the United States Department of Embryo Preservation”

That's a fair point to make, just as I'm sure there are pro-choice conservatives.
