I don't know about the "far right" but as a constitutional conservative I distrust a large federal government for the same reasons our founders, framers, and states did. A growing central government's natural progression is from small to big to totalitarianism and tyranny. That is why the framers and states took great pains to limit not only the size but most importantly the power and authority of the federal government by explicitly stating the only things they were allowed to do.

What brings about tyranny is the consolidation of power into too few hands

oddly conservatives favor that concentration of power

It is few hands but not too few hands that create totalitarianism. A smaller number makes it easier but for instance we could easily have a totalitarian tyrannical government with say all 500 to 600 congresspeople sharing the head of government appointing judges and executives at will.

You have what conservatives favor bass ackwards. The linchpin of conservatives is strongly limited concentration of power

People he doesn't like, with views he doesn't like. That in of itself simplifies it. As for the broken trust in government, when you send secret spies to infiltrate a campaign and LIE about it. When you submit a warrant claim on an individual and then LIE about it. When you LIE directly to the President, and then spread that lie to the rest of the world.

Have I...thoroughly sold the picture here? There isn't a thing they haven't lied about, there isn't a time they have told us the truth. Remember "I can't say that in a classified setting."?

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party is using Mitch McConnell as a scapegoat for its own ineffectiveness as the minority, as the POTUS offers fig leaves to them in the form of willingness to compromise on their items(DACA) in exchange for his.

So in short, abandoning the nation, abusing suspectible powers that frankly we don't need anymore is essentially why we feel the government has betrayed itself, never mind the nation.

It's why Congress has an 11% approval rating. "Racism" is the little crutch they hold as they go to bed, fully cognizant of their own corruption.

Could you document that? As an evidence based empiricist, I'm sure you can do that easily.

Did you happen to read the article that you've linked? It's about France, so the idea that you just want to keep the discussion to the United States, rather than the country that the article is actually about, seems disjointed. I get that a lot of people such as yourself don't bother reading the articles they link, but it makes your "argument" seem ridiculous.

We don't trust the government only when the Democrats are running it.

I strongly suggest you share that sentiment with the GOP, because that is precisely what they are doing by treating Trump as above the law.

The problem is that he is above most laws. Laws don't apply to everybody equally, depending upon what their job is. A cop can drive around with a loaded gun, and nobody is going to say anything because cops can do that. They can arrest somebody and take them off to jail, whereas you or I would be arrested for kidnapping for doing the same thing.

As the President, Trump is above almost all laws. The only law he isn't above is the ability to not be impeached by congress. Everything else, he's above it.

But you'll bend over like a cheap ho for one that claims he is one of you, in spite of the fact his whole life has been the opposite of a conservative. That's the sort of logic only cultists can appreciate.

    No, he isn't.

Please back up your assertion with the Constitution, not the Fox crib sheets.

You would have to back up your assertion because the constitution doesn't work like that. It dictates duties and obligations, but only as pertains to his duty and obligation as President.

I gave examples of people who are above the law. You gave nothing.

    Your examples are RIDICULOUS.

However, you effectively underscore the need for a civics education revival and prove the thesis of the topic.

The Founding Fathers TRUSTED a government of We the People and ENSURED that there was a STRONG Federal government that all states MUST comply with.

Your BLOTUS wants to be a DICTATOR and "control fricking everything" himself.

His supporters don't have any problem with that either.
