    Full headline

Adam Schiff obtains, releases personal phone records of Rudy Giuliani, Devin Nunes — without explanation of why or how

Schiff obtained the phone records of a fellow member of Congress, the private attorney of a person he is after, and a reporter. WHO is threatening our Constitution and system of government. He is not a member of a judicial body, he is not a criminal investigator, he is trampling on separation of powers and abusing his. The Dems need to take him off all committees immediately that have anything to do with this impeachment and look into to ethics charges at the least.

"Perhaps the biggest revelation stemming from the report is that Schiff obtained the phone records and text message logs of Rudy Giuliani, the president's personal attorney.

In addition, he also collected phone records and text messages of journalist John Solomon and Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee."

There is little doubt the phone records were included in the report to advance theories that Trump's staunchest defenders have conspired to protect him and further his interests.

But what the report does not spell out, and what NBC noted, is how — and why — Schiff obtained the records.

At the very least, it is odd for a House committee to subpoena the phone records of its ranking member, a journalist, and the president's personal attorney — let alone in the midst of a presidential impeachment inquiry."

    Schiff-for-brains is a total POS!

I hope Rudy and Devin sue his fricking POS ***!

And how come the phone company didn't put up a fight and take this subpoena to court? It's almost like the telecom companies and the Democratic party are in cahoots.

And did he go before a judge or a panel with the probable cause to seek those records or now can a member of Congress on their own subpoena any record from any person and not even inform them he has them?

So, spying on opposition for political benefit is SOP for dems. Not surprised.

    From the WSJ

"The impeachment press is playing this as if the calls are a new part of the scandal, but the real outrage here is Mr. Schiff’s snooping on political opponents. The Democrat’s motive appears to be an attempt to portray Mr. Nunes, a presidential defender and Mr. Schiff’s leading antagonist in Congress, as part of a conspiracy to commit impeachable offenses.

“It is, I think, deeply concerning, that at a time when the President of the United States was using the power of his office to dig up dirt on a political rival, that there may be evidence that there were members of Congress complicit in that activity,” Mr. Schiff told the press on Tuesday. Complicit in what? Doing his job of Congressional oversight? Talking to Mr. Trump’s lawyer to get a complete view of the Ukrainian tale? Apparently Mr. Schiff now wants to impeach Members of Congress too.

This is unprecedented and looks like an abuse of government surveillance authority for partisan gain. Democrats were caught using the Steele dossier to coax the FBI into snooping on the 2016 Trump campaign. Now we have elected members of Congress using secret subpoenas to obtain, and then release to the public, the call records of political opponents.

Our sources says Mr. Schiff issued a subpoena in September to AT&T, demanding call logs for five numbers—including Mr. Giuliani’s. Subsequent subpoenas to AT&T and Verizon demanded more details. Republicans were told of the subpoenas, yet under rules of committee secrecy couldn’t raise public objections."

    Nothing to see here.

Any Democrat can spy on any Republican.

    This is known.

    Sounds GREAT.

I thought Trump (and his RW Supporters) were Big Fans of "Transparency".

I really don't see the problem.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant, Etc.

    Hooray for Transparency.

    Good job, Schiff. :salute:

Libs used to defend personal privacy. Now they’ve gone all-in with the Deep State and Big Brother.

Libs will eventually want government TV cameras in every room in every house. After all, if you’ve done nothing wrong you have nothing to hide. Right?

The Schiff Show hits new lows. This is a prime example of abuse of power and projection. The banana republic Democrats are doing exactly what they accuse Trump of doing. This is truly disgusting.

I'm sure YOU don't see a problem. What POSchiff did is perfectly analogous with Watergate. But, yeah, Democrats don't have to follow the rules and law. Want rip off taxpayers and put millions in your pockets? Just run for President after you did it. Don't like the elected President, just impeach the m'fer.

I'm all for transparency too. Let's have serial leaker Eric Cairamella testify in public. Let's have little Cocaine Biden testify. Let's see the Biden's tax returns. Let's see the DNC's server. Bring it on.

You understand this is a congressional investigation, right?

That is usually one of the first thing that happens is pulling phone records.

I don’t care what the Democrats have to do to put these people in jail or charged with treason.
They need to pull out all the stops — everyone implicated are criminals, just need the smocking gun.

What Schiff has done is quite possibly criminal. In any event, he has violated their Constitutional rights.

I guess that is why Nunes is being advised to 'lawyer up.'
