Andrea Anderson, a 39-year-old mother of five, said she was first refused the pill at her local pharmacy, Thrifty White Pharmacy in McGregor, according to a lawsuit filed in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District on Tuesday.

Anderson called in the prescription and just before she went to pick it up, she received a call from a pharmacist there who told her that he couldn't fill the prescription because of his "personal beliefs," the lawsuit claims. After complaining to the pharmacy's owner, Anderson claimed she was told that this was not the first time the pharmacist, who also serves as a local pastor, refused a prescription.

When she tried a CVS that was located about 25 minutes away, she was allegedly told her prescription couldn't be filled there either. The pharmacist at the CVS also tried to stop Anderson from obtaining it at a nearby Walgreens by allegedly telling her that they didn't have it in stock, the lawsuit claims.

Another development with the religious freedom (to tell you how to live your life) crowd. Does this have a limit or has the religious freedom claims opened a wound that will be unable to be closed without it being eliminated in it’s entirety.

Cakes, photographs, pharmaceuticals, medical treatment, therapy, housing, education, employment... even pizza has a religious purpose it seems. Was this the goal of freedom of religion? Or is it a perversion of it?

I wonder if the pastors religion also covers lying?

It said 'personal beliefs', I didn't see religion mentioned before some political hacks got involved. Clearly this patient has multiple options, from this local pharmacy to at least two national chain pharmacies. Not seeing a problem, except if the whole point is to whine about religion...

She said the unnamed CVS pharmacist did not have Ella available, and offered to call a Walgreens in Brainerd. Anderson claims the CVS pharmacist said Walgreens did not have Ella available, but when Anderson herself called later, they did have it in stock. She drove the 50 miles from McGregor to Brainerd to fill her prescription.

He's free to practice his religion.

She's free to go somewhere else or (shocker) find an alternative to needing the pill.

39 with 5 kids? Sounds real bright.

if I hire someone to redo my electric, and it's an Amish person that refuses to do their job because they don't want to deal with electrical things... fire them, they can't do their job

if you can't do your job, best to find one you can do

Indeed. In fact he may have been targeted specifically for his religious beliefs (leftists groups do that).

The fact is this pill is available OTC, and even in vending machines.

Its OTC, a prescription is not needed, so a pharmacist isn't needed.

Ah, so this about intolerant progs targeting innocent people because of their religious beliefs? How sad. Why do progs hate freedom and the Constitution so much?

He isn't stopping anything-he's just not going to violate his closely held religious views-and I am fine with that.

    Also the part in italics-lol.

What's the pharmacist's job in this case? Are you saying pharmacists should have zero discretion whatsoever? I'm sure that'd do wonders for the pill farmers and really destroy all inroads against the opioid epidemic. Or are you saying pharmacists should all just do what progs tell them to?

Neah. You can't have a person "working" in the healthcare business going like "it's gods will you're sick... so no help for you".

lol.... if you have your first kid at a respectable age of 22, you can have your 5th at 39.
I dunno how you can judge how this person is nog bright at all.
    Do tell....

The morning after pill is clearly for those that are not too bright.

If they were bright, they'd have taken the day before pill.

    I love the hyperbole. :roflol:

Having unprotected sex isn't "sickness". Pregnancy is not a "sickness".

If she can't figure out ways to avoid needing the morning after pill (despite it being OTC, and available in vending machines) she's probably too dumb for her own sake.
