All the Trump supporters in this thread sound like a bunch of crazy Democrats.

    RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA

Bunch of lunacy based on nothing.

If Germany wants to buy natural gas from Russia, then that's their right as a sovereign and independent nation. And we should respect it. Not least of all because Germany is Europe's largest and most advanced economy.

Ruining our relationship with Germany over one pipeline is idiotic in the extreme and accomplishes nothing. But Trump's supporters will NEVER admit that Trump is wrong about anything. Literally everything Trump says or does, they support it unquestioningly.

Yeah because it makes total sense for Germany to be funding Russia while we're funding their defense from Russia.

    Der de der.

You're the ones throwing a fit because Germany won't bend the knee to your god-emperor.

    Then stop funding their defense.

    Problem solved.

Even if this gas comes from an authoritarian terrorist state like Russia, who supports Gangsters like Assad and disrespects Germany. So is the law of the free market. You may trade with the devil, even if it costs your soul. :)

The one thing I like about Germany is this band, not sure if East or West though.

It was said by our economic minister. Former CSU minister Stoiber said right now Putin or Chin is not our enemy.

I honestly have great respect how Merkel handles this. Germany and USA were allied for 70 years. When a former alliance ends like this much changes and she steer Germany through this in a stoic way.

She adjusts security decissions. Like blocking american companies as well as chinese from system relevant things. On the other side she also tries to get some agreement with reasonable american politicians. She avoids trump. She ignores USA provocations nd continues as planned like with Nordstream II.

In the end all this must not be bad. Things change, nothing is forever.

In a way i even understand the angry rants from some americans here.

Germany is the 2nd biggest economy in western world. Leading nation of Europe. That it leaves the US orbit propably feels bad for the americans. It marks a time change.

That explains the "we protect you" bla bla that some here throw around.

But look, i admit the past 70 years were great for Germany. I believe we have hd a great time. It was awesome but we realized its time to leave ...

    We will not forget.

Actually you can. In many older cities they used to pipe steam from one facility to supply whole parts of cities.

There were old steam facilities in New York, and even one still operating in Seattle.

Electric heating is also an option (though less efficient, and typically better suited for just heating individual rooms only when needed).

How? We have a gas heating system. Installing electrical heating would cost 28.000 €. And how install pipe steam for villages ect? We too have pipe heating in cities. But not in villages of course.

Interesting article in the Zeit today that shows how Germany works this out.

We see that trump is weak. He calls for Tariffs, pulls them back. Posts angry twitter rants, sends his mad ambassador to front. pulls him back.

In last year trump announced 4 times that he want install tariffs against Germany, fearing the EU ****er tariffs he pulled them back again and again.

And Germany? Merkel simply ignores him. That is poison for someone like Trump and his hectic Twitter rants show that.

She must never had a relative who died fighting the Nazis. My uncle is buried in Cambridge England after his plane made it back from Bremen, but only his body made it back. She can like whom ever she wants, myself I wouldn't pee on them if they were on fire. I can only hope one day the Russians steam roll over them again.
