So, your goal is not a future of individual achievement, but one of global tribalism bound by the ankle chains of “The Greatest Good For The Greatest Number”? Very Utilitarian of you. The individual? Fk him—we all need to make sacrifices, right?

    Re "...embrace capitalism and selfishness"

What I love about the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution was that
the state controlled your life - not you. So if you were a student you were sent to
the country, if you were a farmer you smelted iron. People was possessed with
grand ideas and permanent revolution, and set aside selfish pursuits and profits.
All in all, as many as eighty million people starved to death.

Saddam still had his uranium stockpile, 5000 nerve gas weapons and kept developing new chemical weapons, never losing his ambition to create a WMD arsenal once the heat died down.

The Bright & Shining Lie of 911 brought us GWOT, AUMF, NDAA.

As the Pentagon Papers showed in 1973 and the Afghanistan Papers show today, the government lies to the people so that it might wage endless wars.

Now you are rambling incoherently with respect to the discussion and speaking nonsense.

Ever heard of an Endless Enemy?
    A good hint is a
1 - non-state actor which engages in permanent terrorism against liberal democratic nations, and seeks to own
the protection and assets of a state (ie Islamic extremism)
2 - state based actor who holds violent ideologies (Left wing, Right wing or religious) and attacks liberal democratic
nations or their allies/interests (ie Fascism, Communism)
3 - anti-state fifth column groups who undermine their host liberal democratic society, usually in favor of the first two
above (ie "peace" activists, Marxists, anarchists, Nazis and maybe even yourself.)

These three are permanent enemies. They are driven by hate, greed or envy. They are supremely confident of their
own virtue, but project or transfer their sins onto their target.

Absolutely not. If people can profit from govt programs then those programs need
to be stopped. I had a girlfriend who's father built car trailers. He was requested to
begin building trailers for the military - thus becoming a war profiteer. Many Aust
businesses became war profiteers during WWII - and I am opposed to that. As
your friends Marx and Lenin would put it - profit is bad, naked power is good.

We are still waiting for free elections in Vietnam and its client states.
And North Korea has yet to comply with similar resolutions.
Eastern European nations under Stalin's yoke got to free vote only
after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

There's facts, and then there's truth.

So what war "came to the U.S." that it "didn't choose" as you claim .......

So far you haven't answered my question. I don't think you can answer it.

    The lie about WMD's
The lie about satellite photo proof of WMD's
The lie about the first inspection team not be infiltrated by CIA agents
The lie about an intercepted telephone call confirming there were WMD's
The lie about having UN authorization to invade Irak
The lie about no torture at Abu Graib
The about no Murder Squads trained by the CIA in Irak
The lie about no depleted uranium weapons used in Irak
The lie about how "nobody suggesting Irak had WMD's"
The lie about Saddam's connection with Al Qaida and the attack on 9/11

    1. But there were WMDs
    2. You could hardly admit that and what difference does it make?
    3. See 1
    4. Who said that and where's IRAK?
    5. Who said there wasn't?
    6. see 5?
    7. Who said that?
    8. Eh?
    9. Again, who said that?

No WMD's, no authority to invade, and a mound of lies. It's all documented and common knowledge.

So all those news reports about the gassing of Kurds and Iranians
was all false? And the report that Hussein said he "tipped the
chemicals out in the desert somewhere" was fake as well?
What about those huge convoys of trucks heading into Syria during
the war, you think Iraq shipped its WMD's into that country? Could
have because soon Syria was gassing its own people.

I think what you need to do is DEFINE WHAT A WMD IS. The
Left hate to strictly define their words.

No that was true. The US fully supported that, by selling all the chemicals, technical info, and operational info they needed. That makes the US partially responsible for war crimes and the biggest supporter of terrorism.

Nope. That was fake. The Kurds and Iranian thing was in the 1970's/1980's.
Those weapons were all gone when the US invaded Iraq over nothing.
It did cause millions to flee and the creation of ISIS.
Europe is so great full. When is the US going to reimburse Europe for that?

It does seem odd... although it worked reasonably well with Germany and Japan.... and frankly, one of the main reason we tried it this time was because the way we handled the Russians in Afghanistan was such an abysmal failure.

and, let’s not forget that we entered Iraq with the idea that we were going to “remake the Middle East”. We would set up free markets and democratic processes... and everyone in the middle east would suddenly recognize that THIS IS WHAT WORKS!

Also, when we talk about rebuilding our enemies.... well, My memory is that neither Iraq nor Afghanistan ever attacked us. It seems a little churlish to bomb the heck out of a country that never attacked us and then insist that they clean up the mess.

    Precisely.

A fact that some prefer to forget ..... or pretend not to know.

As was confirmed by the UN inspection team prior to the illegal invasion by the U.S.

    That's right.
