Happy new year. We have several new laws coming. Apparently, having hair like a fright wig is now a protected status. Providing subsidized healthcare to illegal aliens under the age of 25 doesn't seem right. Unless they are targeting those in their child bearing years, why choose those who are least likely to need healthcare if you really care about these people? https://abc7news.com/politics/new-california-laws-in-2020/5750088/
"Under 25" is just to be sure they aren't keeping any children from care, or young people diagnosed as children with debilitating illnesses or handicaps that that require long, continuous care.
Democrats want to force Americans to compete with foreign nationals for resources like health care and welfare meant for and paid for by Americans
I understand the claim to care about their health, but we do we stop caring at age 26? I don't believe it comes from a genuine concern for human life; I believe it is about power and targeting illegal aliens in their child bearing years will increase their voter base. Otherwise, they would help those who are more likely in need, like the elderly.
Stopping at 25 is more than likely a compromise with the virulently anti-immigrant contingent. I'm not cynical enough to believe it's about votes. Liberals are already a majority.
I was shocked that despite all the shootings in California there were no new laws restricting the ownership of firearms. After all their existing laws have failed miserably because surprise surprise, the bad guys ignore them. As for healthcare, maybe California should look at the Federal laws prohibiting the harboring and assisting of illegals to remain in the US.
Compromise??? Dems hold a super majority in CA.That doesn't make sense, the same way opposing illegal immigration makes someone virulently anti-immigrant.
Damn.... I sure hope my son chooses a college out of this state. 1 more year of high-school... and I'm out.
Good point. With all that money coming in combined with extremely high taxes, why is CA the poverty capitol of the US?
One new law-you can only purchase one firearm a month now. Previously you could purchase only one pistol a month, with no restriction on long guns.
I was born in NJ and spent 21 years in So Cal, my wife was born and raised there. We escaped in 2012 and moved to 'democrat' El Paso and then New Mexico and never looked back. My wife said she had no idea how restrictive and heavily taxed CA is until she got out. It's like living your whole life in a cage not knowing any other life, and when you're set free that's when you realize how bad things were. She said she would only go back to visit her father on occasion, other than that, she would never want to live in that state again.
Because the high taxes pay for insane things like painting the roads white so they reflect the sun away rather than absorbing heat. LA has some of the best weather in the world, so I'm not sure why that's a concern.
Not all Democrats in California are in agreement over immigration, legal or not. It's the Republicans who march in lockstep, not the Democrats. That's part of why they lose some races that they should have won. What's left of the GOP puts party and Trump before country. BTW, two of the most memorable presidents in the last half century have been California Republicans.
Its not like Californians had a vote on sanctuary cities or subsidized healthcare for illegal aliens. (Or many of our gun laws) Ds and Rs vote their party and tow the line. Its not that reps put Trump before country, they believe he works in their best interest. In reality, Trump is jest less of a thief than the other party. As an independent who has voted for dems in the past, their actions against the constitution combined with frivolous impeachment efforts have insured that I will never again cast my vote for a dem again. https://www.politifact.com/californ...alifornia-has-nations-highest-poverty-rate-w/
Sounds to me like a good case to bring before the courts. By making this law everyone that voted for it is in violation of Federal law against harboring and assisting illegal aliens per the immigration act.
