In a desperate effort at concealment, they are amongst those who have been gagged to hide as much of the truth as possible.

 

Our Founders anticipated there might come a corrupt president. They never entertained the thought that we would encounter a corrupt president and Senate. These are dangerous times for the Republic.

 

I am offended that you do not think Jane Fonda, Robert DeNiro, Michael Moore, and Rashida Tlaib are not "in the know."

 

Gagging witnesses is a surefire indicator where truths that need to be concealed reside.

 

Drama.

I heard exactly this kind of fear mongering talk about Nixon, Reagan, and George W. Bush. People were "scared." Now the liberal media promote editorials and sound bytes with the word "terrifying!" almost weekly.

It's a human trait to want others to feel as we do. The media wants you terrified because they are terrified, and it sounds like they are succeeding.

 

Tell the truth, you only included Melania in the hopes she'd do a Sharon Stone on the Senate. Be honest now.

 

Who wants to "gag" what witnesses? If you mean Trump, executive privilege is as old as the hills, and he has every right to invoke it. It's a simple fact of life.

If Congress doesn't like it, they can subpoena witnesses and go to court to enforce it. If they don't go to court, it's because they know they don't have a case (in the sense that they know the courts will back the claim of privilege or they know Bolton will not turn into John Dean), and they don't want to get more egg on their face.

 

We were facing the gravest constitutional crisis since the dawn of time. I am terrified, and if you aren't terrified, you are a FOOL!!!! Open your EYES, you fools!

(I just wanted to see what it felt like to write something like that. I have to admit it feels kinda good, like I'm saving the world or something.)

 

Obviously, the pursuit of truth demands that those in a position to contribute to it testify under oath.

If the truth does not serve, it is only normal to desperately want to suppress it.

 

Why "desperately"? Asserting privilege is routine and legal. And no one is in pursuit of "truth" in this struggle. Washington, DC is not a Buddhist temple. It's a swamp, and they're all looking for power.

 

If the truth serves, one does not need to conceal it.

Insiders such as Bolton and Mulvaney testifying under oath is highly desirable for those pursuing the truth, and anathema to anyone who needs to hide it.

 

Oh, got it. Trump hasn't blocked anyone from testifying. Surely you know better than that. So why the blocking? Trump's assertion that he did nothing wrong should be supported by the witnesses Democrats want to call. Seems logical, they were Trump appointees. Why should Democrats have to go through a lengthy court process just to call witnesses? Don't Republicans want to speed up the process? There is only one possible answer. Trump and Company are hiding something. So what are they hiding? Voters increasingly want to know, "What are they hiding?"

 

We got rid of "guilty until proven innocent" some time ago. And with good reason.

 

You're shifting the burden of proof on to the accused. Medieval inquisitors did the same.

I'm acknowledging that a recommended method of ascertaining the truth is to have those in the know testify under oath, and that it is customary for those who need to hide the truth to try to prevent that happening.

It does not require that a suspect be coerced in any manner.

 

They should call us as witnesses. We have all heard stuff.
