Deforestation is certainly a point, which should be considered the same way as groundwater theft and bush fires. It is also a part of the reason that our climate is changing.

Exactly that's the entire problem, in my point of view these propaganda fools weather men just parrot fossil fuel is the culprit for AGW no one ever researches , deforestation is a huge problem, lack of cheap fuel is a huge problem, lack of water

We just had a poster say they could care less about poor people.

Btw there is a huge aquifer under the Sahara desert its enormous amount of fresh water.

The entire problem is the human being, who wants more and more and more. 8 Billion of us.
Deforestation ads to the problem, but is only a part.
Leave the fresh water under the Sahara, who knows when we can use it more wisely.
I say build desalination plants all around our country, and start using it, especially greedy mining companies shouldn't be giving any other option.
Burning fossil fuel needs to be reduced, new coal mines should not go ahead.
I strongly believe it is all related to one another....

Deforestation is well recognised as the danger it is by climate scientists. I do not understand why you do not know that.

Not by the general public, they all blame fossil fuels

Well of course there is a relationship. The Amazon forests for instance is eating up some of the worst effects of them. Destroy the Amazons and we are immediately in serious danger.

People speak about Co2 because that is the essential that we can and must deal with. If we do not we can forget any future with any form of society as we have today. People have varying knowledge of what is going on. If more people had more knowledge more would be fighting it.

Tony Abbott was a Rhodes Scholar. I can’t understand why he is so ill informed.

Was there anything in what I said that made you think I was saying otherwise?

    https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/deforestation-and-global-warming/

Tropical rainforests act as a sink for Co2 and when brought down do a massive release. It is a double whammy.

Where I do not understand where you are coming from is in your seeming linking of encouragement for deforestation with people who support saving the planet. It is not usually those people who are wanting to indulge in deforestation but those who promote climate denial so that they can make a quick buck and to hell with any future.

Deforestation is part of the problem, as is water theft, burning fossil fuel and so on.
I certainly wouldn't even try to separate this events, as we have to deal with all of them, which is globally understood as climate change and its consequences....

    Climate Changes
    Just Like The Weather.
    Adapt or Change It.

Moi has proposed the creating of the
    Great interior Australia Lakes.
Creating a new climate and fostering food production too.

    Desalinate ocean water,
pipe it into reservoirs with depth and
    connect to other "lakes".

    Don't Like Climate Change,
    Change It.

    Prevention is a fool's goal.
    Thus spake Moi

Morrison screwed not only the pooch but two cats a horse and a wandering goat

Yes people are pissed. Farmers can see the climate change and the word “unprecedented” rings through this tragedy

Sorry but it HAS “come to pass”

    Increased number of bush/forest fires
    Heat waves
    Longer droughts
    More intense hurricanes
    More intense floods
    Dying coral reefs
    Changing ecosystems
    Shorter winters

And that is just a short list from the top of my head

So firemen are now experts on AGW?

    Since when?

Firemen don't try to stop fires for the last 6 weeks, some of them are in business for a very long time.
No one doubts, that deforestation is partly to blame, but only partly.
The world and its problems are changing rapidly, and not for the better.
Burning fossil fuel is one major concern, its not that hard to understand.
So is groundwater theft and deforestation.
We have to act on different fronts.
Just have my grandkids here, what is left for them in 50 years?

Deniers aren't so much the issue. As Paris shows, even in a city where deniers are a small minority, it's usually the form action takes that people disagree with.

Your focus should be on coming up with an electorally viable path forward.

It is the fear of losing jobs, which always works. Libs/Nationals are masters at it....

    Loss of jobs
    Cost of living increases
    Intermittant power
Things they like being taken away like the Holden SS lol

The point remains that we live in representative democracies and if you want to get anything done you need a viable path to victory at the polling place. Not just in the electorate of Melbourne.

Complaining that the Liberals have brainwashed voters to want continued employment and avoid becoming destitute is not a strategy.
