Isn’t it weird, one of the dividing lines between liberals and conservatives is attitudes towards sex.

On one side we have those who oppose abortion, are uptight about sex, and seem to be okay with a little sexual assault every now and then. And, of course, the misogyny.

The other side has relaxed attitudes about sex, think the ability to get an abortion should be widely available, and that women should be treated as equals to men.

One side has a characteristic of believing the world is other than it is. It may be that it isn’t feminism that is causing all the problems for some on the right. It may be the uptightness of being conservative.

I see you use "slut" to refer to any woman who has a child out side of marriage....another antiquated and sick term....used specifically to disparage MOTHERS whose "fathers" weren't man enough to care for their children.

As you will have deduced, had you not been automatically offended by my posts, it's the naivety and insularity of the Western mindset which is the problem. It's we who are stuck in a (very) isolated village, though ours appears stuck in about 1969.

We are unable to accept that others might do it better, and we are unable to accept that change is needed when old models no longer work. Stagnation, failure to progress, cultural superiority complex, and flaming naivety. That's us.

 

Reasons to avoid both premarital and extra marital sex
1) It promotes an attitude of immediate gratification and lack of self control. In real life the ability to be patient and wait is vital to success in almost anything.
2) It keeps couples together who should not stay together for various reasons.
3) It is a distraction to things important both long and short term.
4) It produces unreasonable expectations for the future. No one stays 16-25 forever.
5) It elevates the risks of unintended pregnancies and disease (not just venereal disease). Not that despite birth control and other medical technology there are literally hundreds of thousands in the U.S. every year.
6) It gives young people the illusion of maturity that they do not have.
7) It tends to delay marriages and older couples become more inflexible the longer they remain unmarried.
It makes it more difficult to effectively morally condemn other obviously more destructive forms of sexual conduct.

 

I don't know who this "we" is who you speak for but it doesn't include me.
