    The climate change discussion spectrum but any political spectrum you can name the truth usually lies near the middle and the extremes are no better than each other.

    That's why I said it's not a big deal.

    I just hoped to nip such behavior in the bud. My thinking was to oppose it at the outset, rather than wait until it gets out of hand.

    The articles blame climate change for making the fires greater, but you wouldn't know that since you don't read them. You think the articles themselves cause the fires somehow. Or that Greta goes down there and sets them herself

    The arsonists made the fires. The weather exacerbated the fire problem. Global warming at the rate of 0.03 degrees Centigrade per year has nothing to do with what is happening in Australia.

    These aren't really arguments meant to determine anything about reality. I think they are just ways to make someone feel better about ignoring reality. It's sort of like a guy talking about how bad a person an ex was to justify the end of the relationship.

    Yeah, the point is that except for a normal number of actual arsonists (maybe 20), none of this would be arson without climate change.

    If a belief in climate change make them do it, then climate change did play a major role in Australia's wild fires.

    There's no evidence that a belief in climate change made them do it. @ArchStanton's claim that it was "climate change nutbags" is unsubstantiated.
