How do you know what they say?
I think it has been fairly well established that you don't follow links or do your own research on the subject.

And I'll grant that I don't know what exactly they believe. I just know they don't believe we are going to all die in 10 years. Now, it could just be a reference to the anthropocene.

Well, I admit, I should have said 'your' confirmation bias. However, anyone who says they don't suffer from confirmation bias is lying to themselves at the very least. That is one more reason why peer review is so important.

I guess because the link between drought and fires is so trivial, I never imagined anybody needing that explained to them.

You're right there is no evidence other than their own words, and those don't fit the narrative.

Your assumption is false but telling. It appears that you believe that no one is capable of evaluating all the available information and forming a rational fact based opinion.

Your sentence isn't entirely clear. However, yes, there are no humans who aren't humans. Therefore everyone is subject to bias. Which is one of the endless reasons why peer review is necessary (though not sufficient) to discover reality.

Health care. What have the media spent the most time on? Impeachment. Why impeachment? Because it's a binary, yes-no choice. Everyone can play without knowing much or thinking.

As we all know, health care is a complex problem that doesn't lend itself to a shoot-from-the-lip solution. Sanders and Warren have tried to create a rallying cry around Medicare-for-all, setting up a simplistic binary choice, but Medicare itself has enough problems--finding a GP, seeing a specialist in a timely manner, and so on--that many voters are reluctant to jump on the Medicare bandwagon.

Capital punishment is above all a DETERRENT. Duh.

Like these little gang bangers running around in Chicago. If we carried out justice as our forefathers had we would solve violent crime and drug dealing in a week. If you want an omelet you gotta break some eggs.

Both, however, are far superior to Trump's proposal.

The solution to healthcare is simple. Price controls for goods and services. It is not free market, but better than the alternative.

The problem is billing and insurance. Premiums go up because doctors charge 20000 dollars for a 1000 dollar procedure and the insurance companies pick it up and raise everyones rate. Price controls fix that problem.

You either have price controls or outlaw health insurance. If the latter then you would pay for expensive prodcedures on a monthly payment plan.

I think you do this when you are backed into a corner and are left with no option but to admit the evidence is overwhelming. You then just state something that can't be backed up with any evidence. Am I right?

The important thing about my epistemology is that it is well defined and has been shown to work. My confirmation bias is biased towards things that have been proven to work. That is to say science. Your confirmation bias is only politics based. Your bias had been shown over and over again not to work whereas science has been the only thing responsible for finding things that work... well almost forever.

Unsurprisingly people have been kicking up about this and it looks like for the meantime they do not feel able to spy on and give mind changing programs for simply feeling emotional about the climate emergency.

    You still need to protest.

Unfortunately they may have pulled this just now but the fact that it was done is almost certainly the near future., My daughter was telling me of somewhere where you can get 21 years for protesting the failure of Governments to do what is necessary to save the planet. It was Tasmania.

The segment, that you chose to excerpt, is remarkably free of any details necessary to judge the validity of your argument.

    That makes it unconvincing.

Yeah, all of that was too esoteric for this conversation. To make it simple, there's science and then there's climate denial.

And there is the tragedy of a closed mind. ^^^

What is climate denial ??? You know people who deny there is a climate.

I suppose. It's closed minded in the same way that round earth theory is closed minded.
