It is the modern role pushed by feminist movements and if it works for you that's great. Family units were stronger under the older model. You're stating that your views are facts as if they are the only set of facts applicable here, they are not. You remain unconvinced but I have given an alternative measure of lifestyle success.

    Stop yelling at me.

so lets raise the min wage so people can survive on one bread earner, the min wage has not kept up, the problem is most people can no longer live with just one income

If nothing else, I can at least say that thanks to this thread, I lived long enough to see a feminist take on a Muslim.

Correct, we definitely expect more — junk — than people did in 1938
    • Average cost of new house $4,100.00 (16,400 [~8yr] hours at minimum wage in 1938 vs 52,896 [~25yr] hours in 2018)
    • Cost of a gallon of gas 10 cents
    • Average cost for house rent $26.00 per month
    • A loaf of bread 9 cents
    • A pound of hamburger meat 12 cents
    • Average price for new car $760.00 (3,040 hours at minimum wage in 1938 vs 4,828 hours in 2018)
    • Toothpaste 35 cents

The middle class was obtainable then at minimum wage, it isn’t any longer.

I was addressing a post that said : ""Short answer, American families were better off when dad worked and mom stayed home.""

Indicating that women must bow their heads and accept their fate and all be homemakers so men are free to do as they please.

BUT, women are humans, individuals, with different thoughts, wants, needs, interests...they are NOT all robots who think and feel the same way.....and obviously can do something about it :)

That does NOT mean women must all be homemakers....

And "traditional roles" is antiquated, sexist, demeaning, and backwards.....women, like other humans , can decide for themselves what they want to do...

Many families are finding out that if "Mommy" goes to work and "Daddy" does his parental/housekeeping duties at home a family is just fine.

It's quite silly to say, "if you have a vagina , you must be a homemaker and if you have a penis you must have the Freedom and Liberty to pursue your

    chosen proffession""

No, those are things called facts....look that word up in a dictionary...

If it's only "propaganda" surely YOU could have shown how it is all false or untrue ....:) But you didn't...

    YOU refuted NOTHING..:)

    YOU refuted/proved NOTHING..:)

You haven't even explained what "stronger family units" are....do they include people who stay married because they had no choice? :) How awful!

Not in terms of buying power they don’t.
Wages have not kept up with inflation especially in education, housing and healthcare.

This doesn't say much for "alpha males". You get that, right?

With that in mind, when you refer to "alpha males", are you talking about guys like Hitler?

I would be curious as to what percentage of the workforce that is also an intact family and working a minimum wage job? Oh wait, I just found out, 1%. That doesn't sound like that's much of an issue.

raising the min wage raises all incomes, society is richer when the majority earn a living wage

Or just stop immigration and work visas, and the labor market will tighten and wages will go up. That's one of the reasons we have low wages now, a multi decade effort to bloat the labor market. Anyway the minimum wage has nothing to do with Warren's thesis, I'm not sure why you are mentioning it.

Hitler got it half right. He was doing exceptionally well in respect to manifesting his pure, masculine disposition; but he failed to get in touch with his feminine side. After all, all males come from their mothers. ;-)
