At twenty four weeks (viability), there is no need to choose between a mother's right to abort a pregnancy and the baby's right to life. Neo natal care has come a long way since 1973 Roe v Wade. Abort the pregnancy, just don't kill the baby. For decades we've been told that the killing of the babies was an unavoidable consequence of mother exercising their rights over their bodies. Women have rejected the very idea that they would kill their own babies for such trivial reasons such as the costs involved. Those assertations have been reserved for men; that is, until now.

I think you may have misread the post.
I'm saying have abortion be legal before the 24th week,
but once the 24th week is reached, have abortion be illegal after that.

Realistically, abortion clinics do not perform abortions after 20 weeks anyway - too dangerous for the mother - and any abortions after 24 weeks are almost always for medical reasons. I don't really think it's necessary to make laws regarding the 24 week and beyond abortions, they are less than 1% of all abortions and only performed in hospitals and medically necessary.

And again, abortions after 20 weeks are very rare (less than 1.5%) and only done in hospitals - not clinics - and for medical reasons. No fetus has ever survived younger than 21 weeks, and that was with the best care. Survival rates for fetus under 24 weeks is less than 5% even with modern medicine.
You are basically trying to create a problem where none exists.

As long as abortion is legal and mothers choose the slain, I have no problem.

You sure spend a lot of time worrying about abortion for someone who pretends not to have a problem with it.

I'm really not as interesting as your attentions imply. Can we discuss the ideas instead?

This is about the average for most states. It is THIS that the pro-life people want to do away with by making it shorter, or making it more difficult to access the procedure. No matter how reasonable the time frame maybe, there will always be those who want to do away with it altogether based on nothing more than touchy-feely fuzzy logic and self-righteous indignation.

UGGA DUHH...the unborn is inside her and the newborn isn't....didn't you know that ?? LOL!! So it is different..

See, the unborn doesn't need it's diapers changed or need to be burped.....so it's different...

No woman is obligated to take care of her unborn or born.....

If you think the unborn are not part of the woman , AS YOU HAVE STATED, then they have NO need to be in the woman. Why should they just float around unattached (as YOU think they are) not part of the woman ...then why are they even IN the woman ...why can't they be taken out IF THEY ARE NOT PART OF THE WOMAN AS you CLAIM????

    Says who ? You? :roflol::roll::roflol::roll::roflol:

Yes, if you want the fetus to have the right to use another's body to sustain their life then that means the fetus has more rights than anyone .

That's impossible....no woman can demand that another person use their body to sustain her life....no woman can demand another person give her their heart or kidneys or blood.... NO ONE CAN.

But you think a fetus can so that means you think a fetus has more rights than women or anyone else...

Unable to refute or even address one word.....pathetic.....I guess when one has no real argument it's best to yell Poppycock! ...how about "Balderdash", that, too , could hide the fact you have no answers :)

So why can't you refute or address them??....it really looks like you're making excuses and that's pathetic even if it wasn't So Predictable :).... :) LOL!!!

I asked for proof and got ancient , erroneous , ridiculous, warped version of history....NO proof...

When you do provide proof to your ridiculous claims I will decide what to do....

Flamebaiting bovine excrement about women duly noted and ignored for the DEROGATORY reason that it is a blatant FALSEHOOD!

The Hyde Amendment PREVENTS taxpayer dollars being used for abortions so that too is a blatant falsehood!

However, given the health risks and costs involved in actually just HAVING the baby, that might not be viable.

Just to HAVE the baby, costs around 10k. An abortion can cost upwards of around 500. Do the math.

Pay 10k and risk my life?

    or

Pay 500 dollars and have almost 0 risk.

    Its not a hard choice.

Who are they having unprotected sex with? Why don't you express outrage about those men "parading around" with their dicks hanging out and demand that they either keep it in their pants, or slap a rubber on it?

    "Parading around"? *LOL*

What gives men the right to indiscriminately impregnate women against their wishes?

You know they have no such right. Rape is a very serious crime. If women could be just a little more discreet, it would be much easier to prove and prosecute. When they flaunt their freedom and display their goods in ways to excite then display largely promiscuous behavior.....it doesn't make it right, but makes it extremely harder to prove.

    Non answer?

    No.

Post #111 made the claim that half of abortions are for married women which is wrong.

So, I corrected them by posting CDC data showing only 14% of abortions are for married women.

    Try to keep up!

How many of the people "upset" about abortions are also opposed to contraceptives?
