Why do you assume I haven't experienced it? I didn't ask 'what it was', you assumed that question. I questioned the statement of it on the basis of having sex with someone you have no attachment to. Proven by the next statement, 'passionate about what'.

Perhaps when one was in their teens and early twenties, where emotional attachments were less then the number of times one wanted to get laid, but when one becomes an emotional, mental and intellectual adult, boinking the next hot thing that walks by is not the mature thing to do.

If this is indeed how adults now handle the singles scene, I'm glad I'm not there.

What do you want me to call her, my partner, my love slave, my main squeeze, my old lady, my defender, my cuddle buddy, my personal back scratcher and neck massager...

Why the assumption that people who are against sexual promiscuity don't have an active, enjoyable sex life?

You do know that every study ever done about the frequency of sexual intercourse has shown that married couples have sex more often than anyone else (with each other by the way before some idiot says something otherwise).

Sorry, there are more than two ways to have/enjoy sex....each individual decides for themselves....they do NOT have to follow your rules....nor meet your approval

Why the assumption that the unmarried who have sex are all promiscuous?

Of course SOME married couples have sex more than SOME single people...it's easy and handy...

Of course, and of course not. But as with most things, I can also call them as I see them, which does not follow your rules, nor require your approval.

I'm pretty sure I've heard that same argument from pedophiles, necrophiliacs, and bigamists.

Good god, no wonder America has problems!

I realise that all of those things are happening in scattered and random form in youth culture outside of colleges, but when it's contained and sanctioned ... and the participants are teenagers, it increases the impact x 10. I'll never understand why America has continued with this habit of 'sending kids to college' at such a young age. Seems incredibly irresponsible, and soooo unnecessary. The cost alone is insane, even without all the other downsides.

Most elderly folk seem to call partners 'my friend' (given they don't want to sound like teenagers!), but WIFE is always better.

Yes, that's very true. And more importantly, after a certain age single people really struggle to get laid.

After my mom died at the age of 75, my 73 year old dad had women practically hanging off of him. He married a widow 13 months later and they were married for 9 years before she died. Dad would've happily married again but he had to go into an assisted living center and died at the age of 88. Feb. 24th, 2017.

This is actually a very serious problem that needs to be addressed more. The dark side of "free sex" and "female liberation".

Teens to twenties are spent sleeping around and then people realise they want permanent love in their thirities, but that is when all of the good ones are already taken and when your capacity to bound has been screwed up by too much screwing around.

If we are at all to have sex ed in schools (I personally am against it), this is a topic they should focus on. At least it would be much more productive than allowing underaged children to play around with condoms.

You can be unmarried and still be in a serious, monogamous relationship, so not all unmarried folks who have sex are promiscuous. :)

    OK.

I lost my parents early on also. Not what I would call a 'happy marriage', but after Mom passed, Dad had several girlfriends over the 9 year span, until he passed. While he never intended on remarrying, they were serious relationships, slow and steady. In the elder years, people are looking for companionship, with sex as a side benefit. Younger people, it seems sex is the priority, and a relationship is a maybe.

You got it all wrong. I have not been a creep like Trump. I’m not a predator at all. I’m more of a pretty boy. I have more in common, as to social interactions, with attractive women, than I do with average men. Back in the days when I swam competitively, there were girls who would come to cheer me on, who didn’t seem to notice if I won or not.

It was hearing women complain about other guys where I first became aware of the alt-right movement. All these creepy guys coming up to women with the same lines and games. It was as if they were all going to a school to learn how to it. Wouldn’t you know, it morphed into a political movement that was instrumental in electing the creepiest person ever to the presidency of The United States of America.

When I was in college, a professor of mine once remarked that the best thing about porn and abortion was that they kept the religious crazies occupied, meaning that they had less time to attack science.

I grew up in the sexual revolution. Or more precisely the women’s revolution. Not only that, but in one of the hotspots of such activities. The movement began just as I was being born. Women had come to expect more out of their life than just following a man around and popping out kids. Women wanted to be in charge of their lives, to get an education, to pursue a career, to have control over their sexuality.

When I had come of age, and was beginning to socialize with young ladies, perhaps the most common attitude was the desire to experience sex but not wanting to have to settle down to do so. I don’t know how it is/was else where, but throughout my life, and the lives of my friends. People tended to couple up for months or years at a time. Over one’s lifetime one can have dozens of sexual partners and all of them in the context of a loving romantic relationship.

You have to call her what the Rule Makers in this thread say you must call her. ;)

As you've probably noticed there is a great deal of "anal-aty" ;) and control freakdom about every detail of OTHER'S lives in this thread from exactly how others have sex to how many times is acceptable to what your partner must be called.....

People this concerned about The Rules Of Sex ….usually don't have any.... :) Poor things...

And today we got the #MeToo-movement, rape culture at college campuses, oversexualisation in media and young women who feel more insecure than ever before; I would say it is thus fair to say the Sexual Revoltuion failed.

I am much younger than you and nothing has changed. Those same terrible and toxic ideals are stilll around and - pretty much - the norm.
