Rich people legally don't pay taxes all the time, it goes back to the days of he Magna Carta in the 1200's that rich people have gotten away with no taxation whatsoever. Raising taxes on the rich won't work. They'll simply move and take all their offshore money elsewhere, they have the money to live anywhere in the world. Change the tax code, and Amazon has no way out. The Walton's have no way out. Donald Trump has no way out. You get the idea.

The tax system isn't hard to play. It favors the rich and powerful, and takes the rest out on the weak and meek on us 8-5rs. This seems like something Sanders would do, which would make total sense.

The lowest quintile of earners - that's twenty percent for the mathematically challenged pay less than 1 percent of the income taxes. The upper ten percent pays nearly 70% of income taxes. Meanwhile the federal government of the United states of American spends more than ten billion dollars a day and Bernie and Fauxcahontas want to triple that at a minimum. By way of comparison, that ten billion dollars a day is more than the total yearly earnings of America's five richest men combined. This is why Warren and Sanders are talking about a wealth tax.

Let me see if I understand this. About half the people in this country pay no federal income taxes at all and they are at the lower levels of income. But the tax code doesn't favor them? Open your eyes and look past the partisanship you are imbibing.

No matter how many times that you cite this statistic, there is this shockingly large group of people that remain absolutely convinced that the "rich" do not pay taxes. It is truly bizarre. I believe that the leftist politicians pushing this narrative to them knows they are being misleading, while your typical leftist voter spouting this nonsense are simply amongst the duped rather than them being dishonest themselves.

If your blog is to be believed 100%, its claim is that between 1985 and 1994, he racked up $1.18 billion dollars in losses, and thus did not pay any income taxes in "most of those years". Is it your belief that someone is supposed to pay business taxes when they lose money? Are you suggesting that we write into the tax code that a certain percentage of losses needs to be paid to the government in taxes?

You pay income taxes when you do not earn income? You need a better accountant. Hell you dont even need an accountant. You simply need someone capable of reading English to fill out a short form. Do they send you a W-2 when you didnt earn any income? How does that work?

You would be a good person to ask......When you hear that the upper 10% pay 70% of all income taxes, what is your thought? Do you assume that statistic is a lie and nowhere near reality?

These people are stealing from the poor. Many people in need are dying because they avoid taxes.

Not earning income and suffering losses are 2 different things.

What you asking me for? Do make a habit of basing your assumptions on others or something? Typically I don't assume facts..they are just facts. My assumptions on the matter dont change that.

When you hear that the upper 10% pay 70% of all income taxes, what is your thought? Do you assume that statistic is a lie and nowhere near reality, or do you simply think that 70% is not enough and that the remaining 90% of tax filers should be paying less than the remaining 30% of income tax revenues as they do currently?

But you would be a good person to ask this...Do you think Trump is lying when he broadcast such information?

Dont take it from me. Take it from the National Tax Payers Union Foundation
    https://www.ntu.org/foundation/tax-page/who-pays-income-taxes

or from the Wall Street Journal who even takes it one step further and points out that the top 20% pays 87% of all income taxes...
    https://www.wsj.com/articles/top-20-of-americans-will-pay-87-of-income-tax-1523007001

So I will repeat....When you hear that the upper 10% pay 70% of all income taxes, what is your thought? Do you assume that statistic is a lie and nowhere near reality, or do you simply think that 70% is not enough and that the remaining 90% of tax filers should be paying less than the remaining 30% of income tax revenues as they do currently?

Give me just ONE example of a person who is dying because someone else avoided taxation. Just ONE.

When he broadcast what information? Can you provide a link so I know what it is that you are talking about? I will be happy to answer, and I look forward to you then responding to my prior question without you copping out again.

I did already, that he dodges taxes for sport.

But since you provided that link, lets add in he does it for that reason. He thinks he pays 70% of all taxes, and we owe the rest...is that a lie?

When he broadcast? Your link wasnt about him broadcasting anything. It was a blog referencing an allegation from the New York Times. At any rate.....No, if it is true that his business lost $1.18 billion as alleged, there is no part of me that thinks that it would be a lie that a person did not pay any business taxes when they are allowed to write off business losses from prior years that exceed business profits. I am not sure why anyone would think such a circumstance would be a lie. It makes perfect sense to me.

OK...I answered in as straight forward of a manner as is possible. Now your turn.....When you hear that the upper 10% pay 70% of all income taxes, what is your thought? Do you assume that statistic is a lie and nowhere near reality, or do you simply think that 70% is not enough and that the remaining 90% of tax filers should be paying less than the remaining 30% of income tax revenues as they do currently?

I dont think of it in terms of enough, more or less fair share. And I think I pay my fair share, I dont think others are in certain cases.

Congress provides a multi-million page obstacle course. Even I dodge taxes for all I am worth. I would be insane to give more money to the government than I absolutely have to.

So I begrudge them every ass-wiped penny.

Flat tax and gore everybody's ox equally is the only answer.

And tax food stamps and welfare so everyone feels the pain.

Well so do I..but we can only elude so much...others on the other hand have multiple avenues of straight dodging, or passing it off to others..In some cases even back to the government.
