Thumberg nominated for Nobel peace prize

Nobel peace prize is a farce... De Klerk/Mandela got the peace prize for bringing death... half a million murdered in 25 years... Obama killed as many if not more with his Libyan policies and knowingly supplying ISIS with weapons in Syria.... these are the types of people who are associated with the Nobel Peace Prize....Death Bringers. Clearly they anticipate Great to be of great use.

 

I think anyone is eligible now-a-days... Obama won for...reasons...

 

When Obama won that prize it became a sham so not surprised she was nominated.

But for shallow thinkers on the left, how someone makes them feel is far more important than actually doing something tangible. This unfortunately is the world that is being push today. The alternatives are out there and always have been. Anyone who who has followed the science knows that we already have alternatives and those have always been discussed at climate conferences.

The alternatives are there. We are just not doing them. It is what the fossil fuel industry and their media shills have been fighting against all these years.

I actually agree that giving Obama a Nobel for nothing was rediculous and that as a symbol the award is meaningless.

But the personal attacks on a child who is concerned about her future and the fate of the planet are pretty shabby.

But solar irradiance has been declining for years and last I ckecked sunspot activity has been at a min. So there is no evidence it is the sun.

You are not understanding how greenhouse gasses effect climate. You should actually study how atmospheric chemistry really works and how sensative we are to changes in CO2 which has always been a factor on climate.

 

I would actually be quite happy to post a brief synopsis from university science text on the relation between CO2 and climate and how the carbon cycle works if you would be interested.

If you are just wanting to make a political attack on Greta then I guess you wouldn't read anyway.

By all means, please, if you can post a paper on how an organic molecule like CO2, which is absolutely necessary for life even to exist on Earth, can destroy the climate of the Earth in -- what is it? -- another thirty years? Please post it. Please be sure that it acknowledges the fact that CO2 is 0.04% of the Earth's atmosphere, or it may be just about as useless as Thunberg's ignorant rantings....

I would submit to you that enormous amounts of toxic, radioactive waste from the Fukushima reactors, along with cubic-miles of garbage in the oceans is a far greater danger to mankind than Carbon Dioxide....

Peace prize? Has she declared war on fossil fuels, capitalism, reason, and science? I think so. She doesn’t get my vote.

 

I don't think she deserve the hate she get. She is an underage girl, and she loose younger she is really. Furthermore she is extremly vulnerable because of her psychic condition.
I'm more annoyed by the people using her.

Furthermore, I'm quite a hardcore ecologist, and I think she is going in the wrong way.
For instance, she refused to blame free trade agreements.

Ironically, from my hardcore ecologist point of view, Trump is better because he refuse free trade and try to re localize the american production near the consumption, instead importing things from China.
Even if he don't give a care about that, he is better on that point of view.

He is better than a hypocrite such Obama that praise ecology and encourage free trades agreement, which participate to waste town of fossile fuels by create uncessary long trade roads.

We're living in funny times, where people who openly don't care of ecology are doing more ecological things that people which publish beautifull speech on mother earth.
