    *President thanks to:

1- A "Constitutional Technicality" (he lost the popular vote.)
2- Interference from a foreign government which he might have or might not have encouraged, but definitely helped cover up.
3- Interference by the FBI 10 days before the elections
4- The Senate refusing to have a real trial (witnesses, documents, evidence,...) when he was caught cheating
5- If re-elected, it would only be because the Senate gave him green light to cheat in the elections.
6- Basically, because the constitutional checks to ensure a democratic process did not work as intended.

I say History should now record Donald Trump as 45th President* of the United States. Or POTUS*. With a big asterisk to point out the glitch.

In spite of all your nonsense, he is still 45th president of the US. There will be no asterisk in the history books. They will say merely that he was impeached and will no doubt give some details.

It is tragic that you feel that an election according to the Constitution is a "Constitutional Technicality". I suppose that anything that happens according to the Constitution is a "Constitutional Technicality. When I took an oath the defend and uphold the Constitution, the oath did not say anything about a "Constitutional Technicalities". It was merely the Constitution. The left has sunk to a new low when they refer to it as a "Constitutional Technicality".

    Don't worry........
[IMG] ..........we've got plenty of asterisks to go around.

The QUESTION IS, should it be 45th President* or 45th *President?

Or maybe we can just substitute for the famous ***** grabber the following punctuation (i)

    1) You call the electoral college which has been around since the constitution was written to be a mere "constitutional technicality"?
    2) No proof it made any difference whatsoever.
    3) You mean the FBI doing its job?
    4) The Senate trial had the same witnesses the House did. If it was good enough for the House then obviously it was enough for the Senate.
    5) I don't remember anything about the Senate giving President Trump a "green light" to do anything. Post a link to where this was done.
    6) What the hell are you talking about?

Yeah, I suppose you'll be using an asterixis to refer to President Donald Trump for the next 59 months.

    Enjoy.

No. He's 45th president* of the US.

The asterisk in history books is implicit in the story that will follow his entry in the books.

For comparison consider this: Obama was elected twice, but not because of a "Constitutional Technicality".

But the fact that Trump was elected thanks to a technicality is not the most relevant point. What's important is that the questionable circumstances just happen to accumulate with this President*.

Mitt just may have given himself a much more honorable and prominent place in U.S.history than Dirty Donald will ever attain.

What about if during his remaining years in office the U.S. faces a massive crisis such as a war or 9-11 type event and President Trump (possibly largely by accident) shows great leadership?

You can tell Trump has been effective by the amount of hate he engenders.

Libs don’t like it when their beliefs are proven wrong.

You have really reached the stupid stage with this one. According to what you are saying, "Freedom of speech" is "a Constitutional Technicality". The right to bear arms is a "Constitutional Technicality" One is no more a technicality than the other. It is my Constitution and your Constitution and whether you stick an asterisk by his Trump's name or not, he is my president and he is your president. The democrats asterisk changes nothing. It does not change his authority nor limits on his authority nor will it change the next election and the way it looks now, Trump will easily win, thanks to the democrats.

No! The 2016 elections did prove that it's useless, but... Actually yes. I guess it is merely a technicality.

Not that there is no "proof". It's just that we've been too busy proving that Trump is a criminal. In the end, we have learned that "proof" is only a buzz word, with no real meaning to Republicans. So why bother? I think it did get him a few votes. Still warrants an asterisk.

Interfering in democratic elections is not the FBI's job. They messed up. And Trump benefited. It adds merit to the asterisk.

No! Not only did the Senate not have any witnesses. It didn't allow any evidence to be presented. Big asterisk.

    No problem

That's a summary of all of the above.

For all of history. He certainly earned it.

We will all stand behind him during the crisis. But that won't save him from prison once he's out of office.

You really think that Donald Trump is going to be sent to prison after he leaves office? Not a chance. Yeah, you're going to talk about the Southern District of New York but even they won't.

No. I said that won't save him. But a resignation just before leaving the Presidency and a pardon by his Vice after he's been sworn in might.... maybe.

This OP reminds me of the sports fan who's team lost a game but want to claim "moral victory" because his team had more hits or lead late in the game etc....desperation to cling onto something as a "win"

In sports this flawed and childish mentality is easily squashed by one word..

    Scoreboard...

Assuming your a U.S. citizen Trump is your president. You can annote it anyway you like but it has zero bearing on that fact.

There is that too.... But I was responding to your mention of the Southern District of New York. Which is a federal court. The governor of Florida will certainly pardon him. And that's probably where most of his crimes were committed. I don't know much about his crimes in New York. So you tell me....
