Thueringen is a small State in Germany, in the former East Germany. The Previous Governor was from die Linke formerly know as the SED, they are hard core Socialists. His government was a coalition between Linke, SPD and Gruene, all left parties.
In the last election they lost the majority and tried to form a minority government. CDU and FDP tried to some party politics power play.
Instead of tolerating the minority government and voting for the previous Governor.

I never called anyone "the far right". I generally try to avoid labels like "left" and "right" because they're exactly the problem I'm talking about. I'm not only accusing any one political grouping, I'm objecting to anyone who tries to push blame for all our woes and problems on any generically defined grouping. "Left", "right", "immigrants", "politicians", "big business", "government", "EU", "rich", "poor" - it doesn't matter what the target group is, any manufactured "us vs them" is problematic and it is that which I'm challenging here.
