    Legally, yes.

    Morally? Nope.

The only way it would work morally is if everyone shared the same morals, and they don't.

Want to trigger your enemies? Do you enjoy watching them get angry or cry, etc?

Well, if you do, then I would consider that morally reprehensible. And if I catch it, I would do everything legally in my power to make sure that person got a taste oh their own medicine.

And when I ran into one that decided to try and attack me, They would be going to jail, while I get off Scott free. Sounds about right? No problems with that?

Wrong. Hint: A private citizen, business or school cannot violate the First Amendment. Government action is a requirement for a First Amendment violation to take place.

That's not what the man did. He wore a hat, and tried to enjoy a quiet meal with his family.

As for the screaming in face thing, all of us have encountered that in public from random crazies. And of course it's freaky .. but what in hell does that have to do with anything? The world is full of people with wildly different beliefs and ideas to our own - and sometimes they shout those beliefs and ideas into our faces. If you can't deal with that, you're not sufficiently mature or civil to be out in public.

It was an exact quote. No twisting necessary. I do realize you do not feel that way and that you were just twisting someone elses words. I believe the pot and the kettle had such an exchange.

I am asking you to, in a public space, have some care and consideration for how your choices can affect others, yes.

Otherwise, no complaining when the situation is reversed on you.

No it's because they are the target. You can lie to yourself and believe it but I'm not going to.

Stop flirting with me I'm already in a relationship.
Yeah people have become less rational over the passed 15 years.

Didn't say that but feel free to argue with your strawman.
And they are far more irrational on the left. Let us not forget how a 16 year old boy and his highschool class mates were considered kkk members by the news because if the MAGA hats.

The only way it works is when we don't look for reasons to be agitated by others - and that's a function of civility, not specific 'morals'.

We almost reached that point at the end of the twentieth century, then the ****ing prudes (Progressives ... the irony!) decided to try and drag us back to the 1950's.

I remember seeing that socialist meeting where some cry baby got butt hurt over clapping and all the lemmings did jazz hands and then some dude got triggered because someone said "guys" addressing the crowd because it was "gendered language" this is the future. People who fall to pieces over clapping. Imagine if they were in charge during Pearl harbor. We'd be speaking German.

I am not saying that is what the man did.

And I can deal with people's opinions just fine. But others, such as the woman, cannot. and they are still in public, and their numbers are growing.

Care to do ANYTHING to address why they feel the way they do? Or do we just wait until things explode and many, many people die?

Okay, but you can't force people to not look for reasons to be agitated.

So, do we address those reasons why they are agitated? Or do we do nothing?

So a school cannot violate ones first amendment rights?

"On January 17, 2018, a federal court agreed with Shaw, ruling that he had alleged a violation of his rights under the First Amendment and that the open, outdoor areas of Pierce’s campus are public forums for speech, regardless of institutional policies claiming otherwise."

    https://www.thefire.org/cases/pierce-college-sufs-lawsuit/

While I appreciate the lengths you are willing to reach, he was withing his rights and her attempt to take them away makes her a criminal. No one is suggesting she be charged "violating his First Amendment Rights" Assault and battery is her crime.

We expect you to grow up.

We expect you to learn and exercise self-control.

We expect you to obey the law.

People's fundamental human, civil and political rights don't end where your agitation begins.

    Don't cry about it.

    You're not a victim.

Of course. But if none of what you're doing breeches any lines but the unknowable moral comfort of the strangers around you, then you're already exercising the maximum care and consideration possible for your fellows. There is literally no way to allow for abnormal responses to the ordinary (wide) variety of public presentations and interactions.

No one is forcing anyone to do anything! It's an ordinary (and essential) process of maturation and the acquisition of civility to become at peace with our rich human tapestry. Those unable to cope with the variety of threads in our rich tapestry, should probably not spend too much time in public places.

Do you mean address the lack of maturity and civility aforementioned? Why on earth would we do that? We can't impose ourselves into the personal issues of random strangers. What a bizarre idea

But I don't have to, and you aren't giving me a good reason to.

And I still have the same freedoms to be a callous jerk like you do.

    So what now?

    Point taken.

Except, Trump's Campaign of Hatred and things like MAGA Hats started it all up again.

But you still expect people to treat you with maturity and civility, even when their needs aren't being addressed and you aren't showing maturity to them by considering their feelings before wearing that maga cap in public?

I'm not the one you should worry about. I have reasons to remain civil and lawful in public. But others do not. Their numbers are growing, in part due to your sides actions. You offer no consideration or care, only derision.

And it seems that many do not even care.

Things won't get better at this rate.

Catering to them only makes the problem worse and gives them power they cannot be trusted with. If they can't find a red had, they will find something.

You aren't willing to give them a chance, so why would they give you one?

You do realize your line of thing will continue to escalate the situation, right?

    :applause:

And THAT is what living in a FREE society is all about.

Little wonder free-thinkers and artists have always been the canaries in our coal mines going back all the way to the days of Socrates, who dared to ask too many people too many questions and got served a cup of hemlock by the traitors to humanity instead of a lifetime of free meals.
