    Action from the useless UN, whatever they can do even though they are useless. Sanctions etc. You ask this as if there's nothing that can be done.

    To raise awareness. It's not as if the Western media will report on anything outside of the US unless a bunch of people die, and even then they don't always report anything.

    And yet there are states in America where there is no legal limit as to how young a couple can marry nor what the age gap should be

    There are so few from age 10 to 12 in the attachment that cold statistics are not needed. Real stories of real human beings with courthouse records are needed to answer the question of what, when, where, how, and why?

    Of course it is disgraceful. But I'm very skeptical about any governmental authority in the USA granting a marriage license to a ten to twelve-year-old, even a thirteen-year-old. Last time I looked there were still states that had 14 on the books iirc.

    Shiver me timbers, in ten states the age to marry is 0 (zero) including poop & needles California and Massachusetts. Unacceptable.

    17 year olds I would kind of expect (I wanted to get married at 17 - thankfully didn’t) but 15... that’s just disgusting.

    A 17 year old girl marrying a boy a couple of years her senior is one thing but up 30% have a significant age gap
