Trump Admin to Send Border Patrol Special Ops on Raids in Sanctuary Cities

    The Trump administration is sending officers from a special operations unit of the Border Patrol to assist in raids by Immigration Customs and Enforcement in so-called sanctuary cities.

    The officers from BORTAC, the Border Patrol’s version of a SWAT unit, will deploy to New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and various other cities whose local governments forbid law enforcement from working with federal immigration officials, the New York Times reported on Friday. Customs and Border Protection spokesman Lawrence Payne confirmed the initiative. BORTAC officers will be deployed “in order to enhance the integrity of the immigration system, protect public safety, and strengthen our national security,” Payne said.

    As a result of Democrat sanctuary city policies-where they actively aid and warn criminal aliens, the DOJ has decided to become more hands on.

    The Border Patrols elite BORTAC units are typically deployed along the border interdicting drugs, aliens, and human smugglers-but now they are to be used in sanctuary city raids.

    BORTAC is like a combination of special forces and swat.

    Im sure this isn't inexpensive-so all costs should be deducted from any federal funds these cities are receiving.

    When Ike went after illegals many of them self deported . Operation Wet Back.

    Ike was the last president serious about enforcing immigration law.

    Even the dems supported Ike enforcing the law back then.

    Barr announced earlier in the week that he was cracking down and politicians would be subject to sanctions.

    Im fine with them being arrested-they are actively aiding criminals.

    Some undercover agents nabbed my nephew by marriage a few months ago. Eventually released him until his hearing where he was told to self deport or they’d do it for him.

    And Sanders himself has stated an unregulated border crossing is not possible (even if desirable from an humanitarian point of view) in "our world of poverty and violence" (just to set the record straight....).

    Of course the Right simply can't conceive of an international rules based system, including a WTO instituted to engender economic security in all nations...so Sanders is indeed correct.
