What is stopping me from selling my AR to my next door neighbor? The answer is nothing. Now you might have a point if he goes ape sh*t and shoots up something. But short of that, there is no law that is going to stop sells like that.

Currently, nothing. Which is where the law fails.
There should be a record of the transaction as well a background check — there is no reason to require them for primary purchase but then not require them for secondary ones

Blaming Trump supporters for wearing MAGA hats is equivalent to blaming a woman wearing a short skirt for her rape.

I wasn't blaming them for the attack - I was pointing out that this partisan clothing bit has always come out badly for everyone. Something about it. Brown shirts, white hoods, little Mao hats ... any kind of civilian uniform. Bad things on the horizon.

    Yup.

It happened on Feb.15th (last Saturday).

I am surprised that there already wasn't 10 threads about this.

Anyway, I am certain that he will be prosecuted to the law's fullest extent.

Anything less than a charge of Attempted Murder will be Prosecutorial Misconduct.

All the best to the MAGA Hat Wearing Victims.

I am sure that the psychological trauma must be hard to overcome.

Have they started a GoFundMe Page?

No - I'm trying to point that partisan uniforms haven't been harbingers of good things to come. Strong individualists don't need to parade around
in support of a cult leader.

    Exactly.

Like walking into the Headquarters of the JDL wearing a swastika armband.

And it will always fail. You can pass all the laws you want, but at the end of the day you can't really stop someone me from selling gun to someone vie a private/secondary sale.

The rap sheet exists, though they stopped updating it long ago. I'm confident the list would contain more than a 1,000 cases by now.

    https://www.breitbart.com/the-media...ence-and-harassment-against-trump-supporters/

It's legitimately disgusting that every time such a thread is posted, the usual suspects come along supporting the incident by proxy. They're the same people who hyperventilate whenever anything happens, regardless of how minor (and rare), where a conservative has crossed the line of civility.

Couple that with the fact that "reasonable" progressives can rarely bring themselves to condemn these acts. Gaslighting to the extreme.

I completely agree with you here, you cannot stop then from violating the law but you can charge them if a weapon that they sold was used in the commission of a crime. When people run the risk of running a background check or being charged as accessory to murder I believe they will pick the former.

And guess where most “underground” guns come from? Straw purchasers...

    Thanks for the compliment!

    Really?

So the people who're committing the majority of gun crime are using guns they bought from some law abiding dude who needed some extra cash. I'm guessing you have a link.

Haven't people figured out that these stupid hats raise hackles so high that can result in injury. Choose another hat.

Would you agree that if a hat raises the hackles of a leftist person so high that they commit violence, said leftist person is mentally deranged?

Why should a mentally ill leftist have control over what a conservative chooses to wear? Honestly, it isn't the hat that is stupid, it is the attacker.

These mental giants placing any blame on the person wearing a MAGA hat are just like the fools who say "she had it coming" about a rape victim because of what she was wearing.

The left, never fails to disappoint me.

If you think the hat is the problem, you are missing the point.

No Daniel is right. Liberals are more likely to have a mental illness so Daniel is right if not prudent.

We see the major depression breakdown for the Very Conservative (VC), Conservative (C), Liberal (L), and Very Liberal (VL) cohorts.

Below, we see the rates of bipolar depression among our political cohorts. Again, we see elevations in the Very Liberals and Liberals, especially the females. Out of the 50 Very Conservative females that responded to our survey, none reported bipolar depression.

I think it is a stupid point. Sorry. I'm a hardcore right wing nutjob but I don't need to shout it out in public, particularly since it could result in injury.

Lacking in self control at least.

I'm not talking about control. I'm talking about common sense.
