WHO SHOULD SANDERS PICK FOR VP?

    Let's face it.
A bad VP pick can kill a ticket ala Palin or Thomas Eagleton fiasco.
Or might be a curse on the nation like JFK's VP pick.
Maybe NIXON was right choosing unknowns as Miller & Agnew.

My one hope is not some gender, race, sexual preference based qualifier.
Especially since the GOP is running 2 white guys.

    Ideas?

I don't know who would make a good VP. But, the Democratic party has been sending me polls about who among the Democratic presidential candidates would make a good VP. So, I think Bernie might get the suggestion to add one of his rivals to the VP role.

Look how well that strategy worked for JFK!

I would love to see him tap Tulsi Gabbard personally.
Might pull a few moderate over to his base.

Probably Elizabeth Warren but I like Tulsi as a long shot.

A Sanders / Warren ticket would be too progressive for many. Tulsi would bring some center to the Sanders campaign and could even get a few veterans on board that would not conciser it otherwise. I also think she would absolutely eviscerate Pence in a debate.

    @Seth Bullock too

Tulsi would also appeal to those Military loyal families in
The Great Red Middle. And has no baggage.

Somehow, I don't view her as playing the gender card as
    Amy or Liz or . . .

She would address "endless" wars and such foreign policy
Sanders has not touched. Hopefully Bernie is in agreement.
PLUS Bernie choosing Tulsi would be a "flip off" to the DNC! :woot:

I was feeling the need to "control" when I thought of Tulsi Gabbard.
    Thanks for bringing her up.

Good points. Tulsi is a tough piece of work in a debate. Just ask Harris.

I like Tulsi's view on standing down in foreign wars.

Won't be Warren. Needs to be someone less than 1000 years old.

Haha....I don't know why that comment reminded me of Gilbert Gottfried roasting Joan Rivers but it did. Hilarious actually. Probably where he sets the scene of having being a young comic and being seduced by Rivers who screams, "come....fill me with your seed that I may live another century..."

Completely off topic and you'd have to watch the vid to know what I was talking about but still....

Amy Klobushar. She's moderate, steely, well-liked and inoffensive.

I also think she'd do a great job keeping him in line and messaging that he's not trying to turn the US into Uzbekistan (which he isn't).

I wasn't on the Bernie Bus (always liked Amy though) but he deserves a fair shot if that's what the voters want and her support would be invaluable for him IMHO.

I imagine she'd be in more of a consult and advise capacity.

Unless he wins in a landslide and takes over the House and Senate like Obama did first time around he's not going to get the more extreme (to conservatives) policies through congress anyway but he might be able to swing a public option on the ACA which I think would be enormously popular. Maybe revise the tax code closer to where it was. Nominate SC judges. Things like that.

    No clue? Why not?
Pence — an evangelical — ran on and supported a walking seven sins caricature so...
