I am intrigued in the discussion of Geo-political adapting to Corona virus and this article serves as a starting point:

    https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/02/25/coronavirus-lockdown-prepare-quarantine/
    "
You’re stuck at home. You’ve been at home for three weeks, with only one of your household allowed out every two days to make a trip to the supermarket through empty streets. The number of infected people near you keeps going up. You miss the gym. You even miss the office.

It’s an experience that has already become drearily familiar to hundreds of millions of people in China—and one that could be heading the rest of the world’s way very soon. To be sure, very few places outside of the Chinese mainland have seen real outbreaks of the coronavirus so far, but the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is already warning that the virus’s spread in the United States is “inevitable.”

While draconian measures of the Chinese scale may not play in democracies, South Korea has already implemented voluntary restrictions, and Italy has put a cordon sanitaire around infected towns. Even if you’re not sealed into a residential compound as many Chinese families have been, public spaces may become de facto no-go zones, with offices, factories, and schools shuttered.

So how can you best prepare for weeks of being cut off from the world? Here are some tips from those who have already been through it in China as to how to psychologically survive quarantine. This isn’t preparation for apocalypse—it’s readying yourself for a stressful and highly inconvenient but temporary experience, concentrating on the psychological experience more than the health side. (For that, read Laurie Garrett’s essential piece on how to stay safe.)"

Maybe the world will wake up a little and realize China is no ones friend. Who’s betting they cooked this up and it got out of control?

Between their savage human rights violations, and despicable business practices ignoring IP laws, the world should put them on notice. Too bad their tentacles are already wrapped around everyone Even our media. Censoring and changing movies?? If countries allow any of their tech companies to start owning vast chunks of server infrastructure were all ****ed.

The problem with the virus, which has hit Iran as well, is that it appears extremely infectious, making it very difficult to control, even though it doesn't appear to be a life threatening virus for most of the people who are afflicted by it. This makes the virus a very difficult one for charting public policy. A forcible quarantine of those afflicted doesn't seem warranted when you consider the low fatality rate (3-5%) among those afflicted, but at the same time, if the virus can spread as quickly and as easily as it appears to be spreading, then even 3% can mean a lot of deaths. Besides, it will also mean a lot of disruptions economically and to people going about their daily lives and various forms of 'panic behavior' among people.

In the meantime, this video clip showing Iran's deputy health minister standing next to Iran's government spokesmen trying to calm fears about the cornovirus, while showing symptoms (later confirmed he had caught the virus himself) is obviously making rounds and making the usual propaganda points against Iran. This time, with something to back it up:)

Iran’s deputy health minister, seen sweating at briefing, has coronavirus
Iraj Harichi posts video acknowledging he has caught Covid-19 after downplaying spread

China has a sh!t government in many ways, but Chinese culture goes back 5,000 years. 4,750 years longer than America has even been around.

There is a lot we could learn if we weren't so xenophobic.

The main areas affected by the cornovirus just happen to be the centers of some of the most significant civilizations in human history. China. Italy. Iran. Indeed, the national epic of Iran, representing its legends and mythology going back several thousand years and compiled by the poet Ferdowsi in 50,000 couplets more than a thousand years ago, when going back to "creation", mainly focuses on these 3 groups and civilizations! Except, for Italy, read "Rome and Greco-Roman".

We should be fine, CDC is far more better equipped and learned to handle this epidemic compared with China.

    Let me help.

You can worry about this latest outbreak of a new strain, or not.

It's that's that simple. You can either go about your daily routine, or you can go full out batshit prepper crazy.

Either way, shut up, you're not helping spaz.

You're either going to contract this virus which statistically won't kill you, or not. Calm down, it's going to be ok.

I have no idea but I do note that in today's (your night) debate it was stated several times that Trump has seriously reduced funding of the CDC. He is banking on April being the saviour of the USA. I doubt that will work.

If that's true then it's really a very grimly bad news, no wonder the trading of the stock exchange went down.

If you are worried then regularly wash & sanitise your hands, don't touch your face unless your hands are clean (this requires practice as we do it subconsciously) and if you have any signs of what might normally be a cold or flu see a doctor.

I bought $800 worth of food, water, hand sanitizer last night.

I bought bullets and masks last week.

Everyone was laughing last week. Now, people trying to have me pencil them into our survival plans.

Nah, buy your own ****. Give it a week or two. Once reality hits, the shelves will empty and there will be massive panic.

    We’re superior. They’re inferior.

Although they’ve been stealing our technology for 50 years and we’ve done NOTHING about it. We’re not as smart as we think we are.

Actually there are mixed outcomes; sometimes China is more effective at containment based upon their governmental structure. My biggest concern with China is how they suppress the number of people infected so the numbers the CDC reports are biased low...

The article is addressing globally, and not just China. Also both in mainland China and especially in Hong Kong there are plenty of well to do professionals who work in an office and go to the gym daily.
