People can use guns to take lives AND preserve them. It's a cost of a free society. Cars kill a similar amount, anually. Are those live less important than those lost to guns? Evidently so, no one wants to ban cars. Come to think of it, no one blames the car, like they do with guns.

Many Democrats do not want to ban guns. Just like cars, some care needs to be done to reduce the mayhem unfettered firearms just like some protections help keep cars from slaughtering more people.

You mean the people whose bodies you stand on and blood you bathe in to push your otherwise unsellable agenda?

423,000,000 guns in the US; fewer than 10,000 (less than 0.0024%) are used each year to commit murder.
Given this level of "mayhem": what must we do, how is it necessary that we do it, and why will it be effective?

10,000 (known) murders plus 2 or 3 times that many suicides (please don't try to claim that all of those shootings would be just as easy stabbing or jumping off a cliff! Lol).

10,000 is a lot of people to just ignore.

Yet you manage to ignore the murders in Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore,New Orleans, St Louis and the one committed by the people who will lower our crime rate.

Sure.....but before you get to drive a car legally, you have to be trained, tested then licenced. Further, you have to renew that Licence to drive often. You have to register and insure your vehicle. If you are caught being an idiot driver, action is taken against you. There is constant Cop supervision of the behaviour of motorists on the road. Will you do the same with guns?

You cannot demonstrate the necessity for, or efficacy of, a requirement for training, licensing and registration as a precondition for the exercise of the right to keep and bear arms.
    So... no.

Okay....so at how many deaths will you re-consider that position?

No, it never hurts. Just like NRA contrived propaganga will never win the day.

Correct. And there is no Constitutional embargo on ensuring people go through the same process as they do to drive a car, to drive a gun.

    Infringement.

Its become a very, unfortunately, subjective word.

Cars aren't protected under the 2nd Amendment and I only have to do those things with a car if I use public roads.

Would you agree to do those things if guns are used in public places? If not, why not?

Yes, I am well aware of it. Nowhere is there an embargo on ensuring people go through the same process as they do to drive a car, to drive a gun.
