While Trump is finally getting on board with the rest of us his response was pretty atrocious as well. If the NBA, NCAA, various governors and mayors hadn't intervened he'd still be talking about how it'll go away any day now.
I know, let's call it the China-cofefe virus in honor of him.

It's the Wuhan or Chinese Virus illness (COVID-19). The virus itself has been named SARS CoV 2. Two strains have been identified as L& S with L having the higher mortality.

The ONLY reason that President began calling it by it's location as many previously tagged illnesses is because of a Chinese diplomat accusing the US Army of spreading the virus in Wuhan. Don't dish it out if you can't take it.

    Amazing,

Did China wait a month to tell the rest of the world about a virus?

Then why can't we STILL get enough testing kits for people? Why do nations like South Korea test 10,000 people a day and I don't think we've tested 3x that many DAILY total YET?

    https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/03/17/us/coronavirus-testing-data.html

Trump and his Trumper entourage have been atrocious on this and the Trumpers are still defending him. Maybe they'll act like real people instead of brainwashed cultists once their relatives and friends start dying, Fat chance but I can dream

Once he's not President any more in 2021 I think he should suffer in prison for his crimes from 2016 to now. We need to show people there are consequences for being a ****** criminal even if you did manage to hoodwink several million people into making you President, (and then defrauding as many more votes as you really needed) Lock him up

What Trump didn't get on board with them with was trying to create as much fear and hysteria as possible in this country. Evidently, we're supposed to believe that panic is the proper, constructive and effective response.

There is nothing hypocritical about it. That's just your own made up nonsense. NYT is a credible media outlet. You hinted that before that it is. You're just back peddling now because it doesn't go well with the agenda of not so subtle covert racism. I'm sorry.

How long did Trump stick with it'll go away by itself in the spring? There are some still saying that on these boards.

As with most of the shortcomings of his Administration.. he inherited it. After 3 years of battling the DeepState's coup, perhaps the sorry shape of Obama's CDC escaped him.

South Korea & Italy along with some other countries are using Chinese test kits which have a high degree of error, and cannot pass FDA muster. The kits we'll use are being made here under bureaucratic FDA rules. Do you want accurate testing? Do you want gov't control?

I think most white folks wanting to have their pro slaver monuments on massive pillars in prominent places for all to see and warship, don't even know that they are racists. The amount of racism is staggering in the US. There are al kinds of statistics that show that. Justice for instance should be blind, but the reality is that when black you get a much harsher sentence under the same circumstances compared to a white person. You also get out on probation earlier when white. I indeed can source this. And indeed... it's under the same circumstances... so don't come with "but is that including previous conviction history? it can not be".... It is what it is. And when the US government acts like that, with no intent do to anything about this... you know... general public... it's just worse. And lets be honest. Apartheid rule was justified by the US government till the 1960's. Segregation in the army. Really. And you don't get to just erase a culture of racism that's grindend into the US culture for centuries by signing a piece of paper. Donald was in his 20's when they ended apartheid. He was raised in that culture, personally. If he wasn't a draft dodger, he would have been living the white American dream of apartheid in the army, personally. Them norms and values are passed down to the next generation. Statistics show it.

Wuhan aint a race. The virus gots a name. Use it.
People seem to marvel at... it's da Chinese virus...
    Add American culture about racism.
A culture they don't want to hear about, but it's there.

They gave the doctor a fine at the end of december for expressing his concern. It would have caused an unnecessary panic or something. Hence there was nothing to tell. Donald had his hunch too that it wouldn't be that bad... being on par with the Chinese. What was your opinion when Trump tweeted that? I'm up for a good laugh.

That doctor died at age 34 of covid19.

I should clarify and say that WHO is providing those Chinese kits to SK & others. They're not real accurate. The CDC has a bureaucratic procedure for creating test kits & President Trump until yesterday did not have the power to overrule that process. You know, that abuse of power thingy.

The first case of the novel coronavirus emerged on November 17, according to Chinese government data reviewed by the South China Morning Post.

It wasn't until late December that Chinese officials realized they had a new virus on their hands. But even then, China's government clamped down on sharing information about it with the public, according to The Wall Street Journal."

Holy cow, the 1st case was at least December 1st and they waited all the way until December 31st
