Than indeed you must have "missed" that Trump had a hunch it wouldn't be this bad, that it would vanish in April, that one day like a miracle it will go away,... and that he called it a democratic hoax by the fake news media!

There is nothing racist about pointing out the country of origin of a disease-and Chinese is not a race.

I don't see any Trump supporters attacking the Chinese.

I did see several reports of leftists attacking the Chinese, in leftist controlled cities.

So the presidents, monarchs, and dictators of every country in the world are not competent. They would have done something to stop the spread of a global Chinese-seeded virus if they were competent, right?

How about Chinese President Xi Jinping. Do you have any criticism of him? He's been "in charge" of starting two global pandemic SARS viruses now, letting his people eat virus-infested bats and wild animals where the bat-virus jumped hosts to humans.

I didn't say it's a race. It's an ethnicity. And it's most deffo used for not so covert racism. A heck of a lot of examples are to be found ethnic Chinese people in the west have been harassed. All the media as far as I know calls it Covid19 or Corona these days... from CNN to Fox. Seems beyond obvious some demand to apply an ethnicity to a sickness all in order to harass minorities.

Trump does nothing against the spread in the US. That is unlike presidents in the EU. So how exactly do you think those presidents in the EU are incompetent?

Calling something Chinese or American isn’t a racial slur.

That depends on context. Go fish. And when right wing and left wing media call it Covid19 or Corona, and some people demand to use an ethnicity in there, and have a problem with it that they can't... than it's obvious what kind of context we are talking about.

Chinese and American aren’t races. They refer to places.

fishing does sound like a great idea today. Great way to social distance. I might go fishing in an American River today for some trout and then do Chinese dumplings with it

"not so subtle covert racism" was the phrase you used.

The origin of the Spanish flu pandemic strain originated at Fort Riley, Kansas, in viruses in poultry and swine which the fort bred for food; the soldiers were then sent from Fort Riley around the world, where they spread the disease.[126] Similarities between a reconstruction of the virus and avian viruses, combined with the human pandemic preceding the first reports of influenza in swine, led researchers to conclude the influenza virus jumped directly from birds to humans, and swine caught the disease from humans.[127][128]
To maintain morale, World War I censors minimized early reports of illness and mortality in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and the United States.[6] Papers were free to report the epidemic's effects in neutral Spain, such as the grave illness of King Alfonso XIII, and these stories created a false impression of Spain as especially hard hit.[7] This gave rise to the pandemic's nickname, "Spanish flu".[8][9] Historical and epidemiological data are inadequate to identify with certainty the pandemic's geographic origin, with varying views as to the origin.[2]

It's more racist and factually incorrect to call 'the Spanish Flu' Spanish Flu than it is to call this the Chinese Flu, just saying; life's too short, things not to care about include pissing contests from politicians.

I have been referring to the ethnic Chinese all along. You keep inventing I'm calling it a race.
    Very dishonest of you.

    Indeed.

And reports that ethnic Chinese are being harassed because of Corona are a dime a dozen.
When Fox to CNN uses the name Corona or Covid19, but not the Chinese this or that,
while people insist that it must be called like that... you just know it's the not so subtle covert racism what drives them.
Such is the society in the US.

Besides grocery stores, the only small businesses still open in my area are take out places. They were in a way set up for this.

Except Chinese food. They all closed. The only difference between them and pizza parlors is that they are Chinese.

Ya know why they are closed? They're scared...not of the virus...of US

No, but it does have a place of origin. If it is from China, it is from China. Food does not have ethnicity, yet we ascribe such labels to various cuisines.

I see no problem at all in calling Covid-19 the "Wuhan Flu" because that is how we normally tend to name such flus. Although I myself am a much bigger fan of the name "Bat Flu" since it has a better ring to it and sounds pretty damn scary. :D

They doesn’t change the fact you called it racist. I appreciate you have now backed off that silly claim.
