Mark Cuban has a smart proposal for small businesses that they should continue to write checks for normal expenses - wages, rent, etc., and the Fed would back the banks to cover any overdrafts. As it is now, the political solution is to make businesses apply for help.

If the "sticking point" is putting restrictions on the $500 Billion Mnuchin Slush Fund for Business Bailouts, then give it to her.

I seriously doubt that Nancy is asking for a Trillion Dollars pave Disneyland with Gold.

What do you know about it?

    Have you read it?

And since when is someone who claims to be 20% libertarian in favor of a bailout?

That's not the sticking point. Nancy was fine with that over a week ago.
What Nancy is going to want is huge increases in entitlement programs, and she's going to want them to be made PERMANENTLY, and not just as temporary crisis measures.

Because that's what Democrats want- massive, permanent expansions of social programs, and far more government dependency and government control.

That's what she'll want, because that's what Democrats always want.

These are loans just as the TARP program was implemented. The loans will be paid back with interest just as they were in TARP through which the US Treasury collected $66B in interest and stock profits..

You are in favor of letting businesses go bankrupt destroying the jobs of millions of Americans ??? That's what the Democratic Party stands for these days.

    Exactly.

And Trumpsters have the right to support socialist measures without being laughed at.

Loans are not bailouts. TARP for example was all paid back and the Treasury made $66B.

TARP was socialist ?? Did the US government take control and run the businesses the loans were made to ???

A proposal is being considered to allow Congressional votes to occur without physical presence required... and it's bi-partisan..

    SNIP
The Senate is also considering remote voting as it works to pass bills to fight the outbreak. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, introduced a resolution Thursday to change the chamber's rules to allow for remote voting during a national public health crisis.

I'm pretty sure there's no loan in that bailout.

Not even two weeks of stay-home/shut-down, we just had the longest economic expansion/best booming years in history, and a majority desperately need a cheque.

    What a great country!

In a normal world, Conservatives want the government to intervene in the economy as little as possible.

    You know, the free market?

So it's kind of ironic that Pelosi is being blamed for opposing a program that initially goes totally against the ideology of the Conservatives.

They can call it whatever they want...

But the fact remains, America is hurting and they're still trying to sabotage the situation.

I'm about as small government as you can be, but believe it or not, I still think the federal government has responsibilities.

That's what it will be eventually. That's the key word... eventually.

It behooves the DNC to drag it's feet, keep the Trumpbucks out of the hands of desperate Americans, and let the misery fester.

Because that's how you make the Orange Man look bad, and score political points.

You are pawns in the DNC's game, and your suffering is a strategy.

    Disposable, expendable pawns.

yes, eventually republicans will do the right thing and do what dems are asking for, it's sad that dems have to fight so hard for the American people

repubs got their corps bailouts, they just want to pass it.... not without an equal amount for the American people, just not gonna happen, Americans are suffering
