I agree that stuff shouldn't be in this bill. But I remember when cutting spending was a big priority during the 2008 recession, ridiculous. Democrats should compromise but I would like to see Republicans do a lot more to help workers.

Actually, the Green New Deal and other socialist programs are just a poison pill to assure the bill won't pass.

Then the Dems hope Trump gets called "ineffective" for not getting legislation passed.

    Bigger cash payments to Americans
Democrats want to further plump the direct payments that would go out to Americans under the bill, proposing $1,500 per person, instead of the $1,200 on the table under the Senate measure laid out Sunday. Unlike the latest plan from Senate Republicans, however, higher earners would have to pay back part or all of the assistance over three years if their taxable income is $75,000 or more for a single filer or $150,000 or more for couples filing jointly. The money would be available to anyone with a tax ID number, and to retirees and people who are unemployed, rather than just to people who file taxes for 2019 or get Social Security.
The House plan also includes monthly payments of up to $2,000 per adult (for individuals who make less than $115,000 and joint filers who earn less than $230,000) and $1,000 per child to buy food, medicine and other necessities “for as long as the crisis and potential recession may last,

That’s fine if they would drop the ryders that have nothing to do with the stimulus plan

    Were they appointed by Obama?

“President Obama set up anti-pandemic programs in 47 vulnerable countries, as a way to protect against something just like Coronavirus breaking out across the world,” Murphy wrote. “Experts begged Trump to keep them open. He closed 37 of them.”

Why on earth would Trump keep anybody around that Obama either appointed or hired? Trump learns from his mistakes.......the Democrats do not.

Not letting her have her socialist wish list, and ensure the public knows what the DNC is holding the stimulus for. It is time the general public rein in the extremist DNC Socialist agenda. This is time where the needs of the people should outweigh party politics, but if one party's actions hold a necessary piece of legislature hostage as the DNC is doing here, then they should be stopped. Here is what the DNC is blocking:

    1. Direct payments to the American People. ($1200/person, $2400/couple, $500/child)
    2. $350B for small businesses
    3. $250B unemployment insurance
    4. $100B Hospitals
    5. $4.5B CDC
    6. $11B for vaccines, therapeutics, diagnostics and other preparedness needs
    7. $5B for FEMA Disaster Relief Fund
    8. $1.7B Strategic National Stockpile
    9. $12B Military
    10. $20B Veterans Health Care
    11. $12B K-12 education
    12. $6B higher education
    13. $10B airports
    14. $20B public transportation relief
Here is what the DNC wants instead:

    1. Expansive tax credits for Solar and Wind Power
    2. New emissions standards for airlines
    3. Increased collective bargaining powers and bigger cutouts of Unions
    4. Required same-day registration and early voting
    5. Bailout Postal Service for Union pensions and student loans
    6. Retirement plans for community newspapers.
    7. Publication of Corporate Pay Statistics by race and race statistics for all corporate board members. Also require all companies receiving assistance to raise their minimum wage to $15/hour.
    8. $1B for a cash for clunkers program for airlines.
    9. $1.5B to study climate change mitigation efforts civil aviation and the aerospace industries.
    10. New OSHA regulations for Hospitals
    11. $1B to build on Obama Phone program.

Call your Congressman/Senator. Have them tell Pelosi and Schumer to stop the BS, and pass a stimulus package without the socialist crap!!!!!

Now that it's been revealed that what Nancy wants is a preposterous and economically-ruinous barrel of progressive-agenda pork that's totally irrelevant to the corona virus crisis, do you still think we should give her what she wants?

A comment was made that the Democrats were trying to get the American people a "better deal".

I posted and asked what they were doing. I asked for specifics.

You responded to my post with that chart.

If your response had nothing to do with the post you were replying to, you probably shouldn't have replied to it...

It is nothing different that what has been going on in Congress forever.

The GOP is famous for it.

    Pork barrel additions. Congress 101.

And, if McConnell doesn't want to go along, then the Americans suffering is on him.

And it needs to stop for this event. Because the GOP has done it in the past should not justify it today. This is literally holding the American worker hostage and needs to stop! Both the GOP and DNC need to drop their petty antics and get a bill passed TODAY!

I am so glad trump fired them not because of their qualifications or outcomes but because of who hired them.
And now we have a worldwide pandemic, good job!

If the GOP Completely abandons the idea of Mnuchin's $500 Billion Slush Fund, there may be some wiggle room.

    That is MISLEADING (Partisan) BS.

Just because somebody "wants something" Does NOT Mean that they want it "Instead".

They can have it BOTH Ways.

Both sides can have their cake and eat it too.

McConnell just needs to stop playing politics and agree to Nancy's demands.

Nancy gets hers, Mitch gets his.

    ^Problem solved.

"Wiggle room" Does NOT Mean "dumps all".

    Maybe "dumps some".
