It's not hard to understand how we became the epicenter of this pandemic. Our way of life is the direct result of that more so than any lackluster government response. When the government has to ASK it's citizens to pretty please comply with recommendations instead of MAKING them comply then you will have hordes of folks completely disregarding the CDC recommendations. Even to this day my friends in Florida were posting pictures of masses of people gathered on public beaches. Spring Break kids ran around the nation congregating then returning home and likely bringing the virus back with them. They aren't the only reason by any means but they surely didn't help.

Human beings are social creatures, most people are extroverts who even in the face of a pandemic will only stomach sitting at home by themselves for a short amount of time before they say screw that. My day to day life has not changed whatsoever because I'm an introverted person anyway but most people aren't like me. This stay at home policy is torture for them, for me it's a normal day.

The US is also a nation that isn't flat out lying about our numbers like other nations are doing as well.

Freedom is a double edged sword, unless you want the US to instill martial law and start MAKING people stay in their homes then there isn't much else the government can do to slow our spread here. We COULD slow our spread here, but the citizens of the US won't likely take too kindly to that. I've seen plenty of funny videos of folks in other nations climbing out of their windows and getting chased by the police for breaking the mandatory isolation laws. That wouldn't fly in America, Americans will be damned if the government says you can't leave your house.

Bottom line is our policy here in America is please listen to the CDC recommendations and stay at home as much as possible and if you think you've been exposed please self quarantine for 14 days. The policy in many other nations is stay at home or else....

We can't exactly do that here. So in turn we have a lot more cases than other places.

By not restricting China travel, which is the mistake Italy made.

Whose woods these are, I think I know.
    His house is in the village though;
And that is why he will not know
Who signs his name in yellow snow.

What are you talking about? I have a Nexus pass and travel through the very border you're talking about. Last time I looked, our border was manned by Americans. Not only that, but Canada has a much larger per capita Chinese student population.
That's not a major cause of COVID-19 spread, but you're right to zero in on inappropriate regulations.
    An absurd claim.
This is plain nuts, especially the comment about illegals voting in November.
It seems to have driven Trumpers crazy.

Suggest you send a note to Trump that he should stop feuding with governors, making crazy statements about firing up the economy, and all the other erratic baloney.

Trumps popularity increased slightly as the crisis has deepened. Other Presidents have seen their popularity hit 80+%, not jump to 48%.

We're in a tight spot and Trump is all worked up about getting his signature on federal checks to workers.

We're the epicenter of testing folks. We're testing more than everyone else, so we're finding more cases. We'll never know who was the real epicenter because no one is testing most of their population. Its was probably China, but they didn't do as much testing as we are.

This line won't work if we start filling refrigerator trucks with bodybags.

What do you recommend we do differently here in the US in order to deal with this pandemic outside of what we are currently doing?

Every world government has failed and all are now in a scramble. This isn't Trump issue. This is a planet Earth issue and the world will be a much different place once everything has settled down!

No! I'm relying on the Video of Joe Biden, acting like Coronavirus was no BIG! Deal and that President Trump was overreacting by stopping travel from China and other Hot spots in the World.

He was criticized for being xenophobic for acting too soon. He acted on January 31 after offering Xi medical help so we could find out about the virus on January 24. If Canada was in general quarantine, why did Trudeau allow flights into Vancouver from China and allow sick Chinese to kill Americans ,,, until Trump read him the riot act?

No, we are not "testing more than everyone else" on a per capita basis.

Trudeau told Trump Canada was going to close the border to all but commercial traffic and then let Trump save face by coming out with a similar U.S. message. You're just making stuff up or repeating propaganda you heard.

China is infinitely more believable than Pathological liar Tramp who has never stopped lying about the Trump-45 virus.

So, if Trump is on the ball, how come we're short of PPE and ventilators?

Pompeo tweeted about the USA sending personal protective equipment to China on Feb 7. The State Dept also has a memo posted on its .gov website proclaiming it sent out 18 tons of PPE to China.

Cuomo couldn't find his warehouse. He had thousands. The SEIU was hoarding 39 million N95 masks until Trump and Barr made it a felony. They are all fighting AOC who is trying to ban fuel for ventilator delivery trucks.

Biden was right about us needing a plan.

So, the Orange Oaf bought us a couple of weeks (maybe!) by stopping travel from China, but then dropped the ball on testing, PPE, and ventilators.

The first known case of COVID-19 in the U.S. was confirmed on January 20, 2020, in a 35-year-old man who had returned from Wuhan, China, five days earlier.[2] The White House Coronavirus Task Force was established on January 29.[7] Two days later, the Trump administration declared a public health emergency and announced restrictions on travelers arriving from China

From January to mid-March, the United States got off to a slow start in COVID-19 testing.[10][11][12] In that period, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) procedures forbade laboratories that followed internationally recognized test protocols from releasing results to patients. The FDA approved only non-government test kits from late February and had restrictive test eligibility guidelines until early March. The CDC developed and distributed test kits of its own, many of which were found to have a manufacturing flaw in a non-essential component, which however made the kit illegal to use until the protocol was changed.[13][10][11] This was followed by the government announcing a series of measures intended to speed up testing.

Sounds like Trump was exactly right. Every corner of the deep state is diseased --- and has been diseased. While the disease was accepted in the past. Trump is fixing the disease in the CDC, FDA, etc. ,,, one bureaucrat at a time.

Rumsfeld famously implied, 'You go to war with the bureaucracy you have, not the one you wish to have.' Trump is rewriting the book. When he's done, unlike his predecessors, he will make sure we will be able to handle the next pandemic with great ease.

Even Dr. Fauci doesn't blame Trump for the testing situation, you think it would be different if Plugs were POTUS?

Where was Biden's plan when he infected 60.8 million Americans with Swine Flu in 2009 - 2010? Where was his plan when he failed to defeat the Swine Flu and it came back year after year to continue to infect and kill Americans?
